//ooc// Set Week 2, Day 5. If anyone else wants to join in, just ask. :]
In the shadow of a large rock, several minutes' worth of walking distance from the entrance to Haven, Buffalo Dump sat with a fresh ration of Energon. Pine-Sol's aroma wafted from his drink, the swirls of olive yellow like mud to the neon blue. Lilleth-like creatures — "birds", they were called — flitted around above, preoccupied with gathering pieces from some sort of organic cluster, a "bush". The bull-like 'bot turned his head to gaze, watching in amusement before going back to his drink.
The day was a pleasant day. Hot, bright sun beat down relentlessly, but it was easily avoided by retreating to the shade. The wide cliffs and jagged mountains of Haven's perimeter gave him plenty of places to "hide", so to speak; the Nemesis was far too gloomy at times. Combined with the tension from Megatron's injuries, he felt like he was chained up, once more bound to the worst parts of Polyhex. The muted, nervous fields of so many around him — mostly Vehicons, but Soundwave barely had an EMF to speak of — were too stark a reminder of days more oppressed. All the Empties had been like that....
Buffalo Dump shook his head. Why was he brooding when he had a perfectly relaxing, sunny and cloudless day ahead? The warship hadn't comm.ed him back in hours, and he had the all-clear to laze around for the day. Unless something came in about Energon mines or another patrol, B-Dump had the entire day to himself, and that was rare. His dark berth, wedged into a cramped room that was better fit for half his size, was the only bastion of privacy and security he could call his own.
Unlike the other Decepticons, Buffalo Dump wasn't afraid to be soft. (Then again, he still didn't know most of the Decepticons on board, but there was a recurring trend of ruthlessness that made him jump to conclusions.) What he was afraid of, however, was being taken advantage of, and the disapproval Megatron might show at the mech's behaviour. The warlord had no tolerance or patience for mercy and the innocent casualty; B-Dump cringed at everything the gladiator had forced him to do. But whilst their great and glorious leader was busy recovering, about as shy as a newspark and as mean as someone's cybercat?
Buffalo Dump was going to savour every moment he could be himself, get away with a bit more. In time, he would have to be stone-cold and act like a hardaft again; all he wanted was peace. Peace, quiet, and for Megatron to be stuffed up the tailpipe of the biggest, most unruly creature imaginable.
