Bot side-plot active: Car Truthers
As some of you may be aware, if you were following the cbox or the start of the Transmission thread, Jasper is facing a small invasion of an alien conspiracy group. Or is it? Are they just a bunch of weirdos on the internet or is something more sinister lurking about in town? Tune into Jasper (or run away screaming from it, if you're not interested) to find out more!
I've collated the information that was discussed in the box so that everyone is up to speed.
Ep 2.5, week 1, day 5 - Transmission:
Rafael's first day back from his awesome science fair is marred by the discovery of a bunch of flyers advertising the presence of a group called Car Truthers. They interested in speaking to anyone who has witnessed what they call the 'Ghost Car' phenomena as they are putting together a documentary which they hope will expose the truth, whatever that may be, to the world.
While Rafael didn't make it back to the Omega base that night, Jack and Miko did, so Bot base has been warned that a bunch of internet weirdos are lurking about in town. Make sure to wear your humansuit, er, holo when you go for a drive in town, Autobots! (Or don't, if you'd like to perpetuate a whacky internet conspiracy and possibly make life harder for your fellow Bots Or maybe if you're feeling particularly bold and good with your holo, perhaps you could strike up a conversation in order to throw them off the trail?)
So what does this mean for the Autobots and their human friends? Threads that take place around Jasper have a chance of being random evented into for a period of time until the good internet folk decide to leave (Also, if you are running a thread that you definitely don't want to be interrupted, shoot me a message and I'll leave ya alone). This is open to everybody on the Autobot side of the fence, though is a bit restricted to those that can take on traditional vehicle modes. Fliers and other less common alt-modes will need a good reason they can interact without suspicion, among other hoops that must be hashed out on a case by case basis.
If you're a human character, there's probably a good chance you will be harassed (Raf, I am so, so sorry man but you really haven't seen the last of them). There will be re-occurring NPC characters taking place in this event. And while the presence of Car Truthers was first noticed during Transmission, that doesn't necessarily mean that's how long they've been in town for
Watch out guys! Here's to hoping that you don't find yourself in a video on an obscure part of the internet. Who knows who could be watching!
