-Player Info-
Name/Alias: Stark
-Character Info-
Name: Sola Dex
Age (or human equivalent): mids 30’s
Gender (or human equivalent): Femme/Female
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Order of Solus (Neutral)
Occupation/Specialization: weapon specialist/engineer
Appearance/Altmode: Her alt mode is a dark teal Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low helicopter, though she was formerly a variant of high-speed Cybertronian chopper. She was designed to carry military pay loads and specialized in strategic bombing runs. Her root mode has four of her six rotorblades folded down her back, but the other two serve as melee weapons in combat. She’s built in such a way that she can lose rotor blades and reformat to fly on as few as three. Top speeds can only be reached if she has her full array, however. In root mode, most of her armor is subspaced or heavy layered across her chest and shoulders.
Alt mode: THIS.
Holo Avatar: THIS.
History: Sola’s spark was commissioned by a research and weapons development team out of the Autobot Kimia Facility before the Decepticon uprising; a trio of head weapon engineers looking to acquire new-spark and, essentially, a fresh set of optics for their theories and weapon design. The research at the Kimia facility being on the cutting edge of military science, Sola was designed from top to bottom, inside and out to be an ideal intellect and suited in all ways to be a prime mind for engineering. Unfortunately Primus chose to spark Sola a bit... excitable.
Her enthusiasm for weaponry was undeniable and her talent for their design and output prolific, but there was the slight issue of her really wanting to do all the field tests herself. Her main area of expertise is and always will be bigger and better guns, may of which did not get past the ethic committee. Most of these weapons ended up in the hands of black ops and Wreckers where their use would not trigger political blowback. Her crowning achievement was the microfusion-powered force-field generator shield – though only one of its kind was ever made, it was the pinnacle of defensive weaponry, a hand-held shield usable by anyone, able to deflect all weapon types and reverse kinetic force back at the offender.
During the height of the war, Sola left her position at the Kimia facility and joined the Autobot Infantry along the Polyhex border force, a region notorious for its decades-long aerial skirmishes and it was here she earned her reputation as an aerialist. She’s infamous for her shield generators and defending hundreds upon thousands of soldiers and refugees in Polyhex. Notably gone toe-to-toe with a lot of heavies on the Decepticon side. It was her work her that got her on the list for the Wreckers. She joined up ran with them on and off as they required her for the 100 years leading up to the Simanzi Massacre.
Sola was discharged from active duty due to a brief onset of ‘mental distress’ triggered when she was informed that a non-combatant mini-con partner of hers had been killed in Simanzi during a bombing that, debatably, she’d participated in. After she recovered, she was dishonorably discharged from the Autobot Army and sought to join the Order of Solus… and took all her weapon research with her. Her intent now: to keep all her weapons in the right hands from then on.
Many of her weapons and inventions are among the Class A prohibited weaponry that was jettisoned during the fall of the Iacon Hall of records, the force-field generator among them. Elita One herself promoted Sola to blade-class. She has been with the Order since the start of the Endless Retaliation, so for the last 1000 years of the war.
Personality: Sola is somewhat confusing to those who first meet her. She’s a foul-mouthed, loud-mouthed, fight-junkie with an inclination to run guns-blazing into battle where she’s easily one of the most brutal spawns of glitches you may ever meet… but she’s an expert theoretical weapons engineer with a geek’s love of experimentation. She enjoys hugging people and shouts when she gets excited. Her enthusiasm is probably the greatest trait – a 100% ‘Awww, yissss, let’s do this thang!’ attitude even in the face of really staggering odds. Relentlessly ready to go, and pumped to a fault, she requires some calming down from time to time.
On a personal level, she’s exceedingly friendly and loves to be a funniest bot in a room, cracking wise and telling stories about former CO’s, teammates, or crew. Prone to hedonism, Sola likes to have fun and genuinely enjoys when others are having fun as well. She tends to draw energy from being around and helping others and will get sullen and moody if left on her own or separated from her crew. She very much likes camaraderie and tends to romanticize it a bit prone to overconfidence and being an attention hog, she takes failure very hard and tends to brood on it for a while.
Those she has failed to protect haunt her more than she says.
Likes: Guns, guns, guns, rock music, guns, stunt flying, going fast, making fun, cracking wise, swearing, a good polish and wax, bickering for the sake of it, guns, high-grade, multi-dimensional chess, fixing her guns, tweaking her guns, did I mention guns? Anything involving the words “Hey, watch this!”
Dislikes: Getting her paint scratched, being lectured, being rushed, being directly responsible for others, losing, being alone, Elita’s Disappointed Stare TM, getting smacked over the head, philosophy, running. God, she hates running.
Strengths:
Engineer: While she’s only an average shot, her weapons tend to be nothing to sneer at. She doesn’t often reserve the goods for herself because her defense is so strong, but her teammates always tend to be armed to the teeth as a result of her forever up-grading and tweaking weaponry for them. She’s very much a lab-specialist, making lovely deadly things while off the field. She’s not really one to build things on the fly, but she can jerry-rig most any weapon to get it working again.
Ace Pilot: Holy crap she’s a very good flyer. Stunt flips, tricks and all manner of air-bourne shenanigans are Sola’s to use making her excellent aerial support and an expert in the air. Her unit out of Polyhex was notorious for its habit of hunting and attacking Seeker units and being generally all kind of pain for the Decepticon air groups in that region. Her top strategy is to bait fliers into attacking her at highspeeds, then transforming mid-air to throw a shield, causing them to fly into what is essentially a wall. Her aerial combat rating is crazy high. The munitions carried in her alt mode are nothing to sneer at either.

Weaknesses:
Absolute Defense/No Offense: Once her shield is up, you cannot fire through it. It will either stop certain energy projectiles cold or cause a ricochet. So, rule one of containment shields: Never ever, ever fire your weapon inside an enclosed containment shield. That one bullet can kill every mechanoid inside, or the shield holder will have to drop the shield to release the bullet. Also, certain kinds of energy weapons can penetrate her shields like a knife through butter so she’s gotta look out for energy weapon specialists. Regular energon slugs and physical artillery is okay though.
Gas Guzzling: Her onboard shield generator eats A LOT of energon so depending on how often she uses and for how long she can overstrain herself if she doesn’t have the fuel for it and it means she requires a lot of fuel to be most effective. So when she’s low on rations she’s no good group defense and must use her shields to focus on her own armor. Shield generators are some of THE biggest energon sucks around.
No Land Legs: Unfortunately for this helicopter, a shield is best utilized on the ground, not in the air. Once on the ground she becomes a giant blob of defense and nothing else. Nothing fancy, no tricks. She’s not a very good shot either on the ground. Her accuracy drops to below average which is a point of some embarrassment that she can’t use her own weapon designs. She has zero skills with melee weapons and her combat blades are a last-ditch defense. Her hand-to-hand skills to not exceed beyond punching things with a massive shield blast… which works better that it sounds.
[/ul]
Special skills: She does a mean paint and polish job.
Extra Info: She lost a partner that she held very dear during her tour in Polyhex and their death incapacitated her for quite some time. They are one of the people she failed to protect. Whether it was her fault depends on who you ask.
