<<Takes place maybe about 9/10ths of the way to Earth from Cybertron on Metroplex's Awesome Intergalactic Adventure. Since his transwarp generator is a point-to-point thing, basically from his point of view he woke up out of stasis about five minutes ago. Likewise, from his POV, the Ark just left Cybertron about SIX minutes ago.>>
Metroplex pondered the error messages scrolling across his facilities processor. He--as much as he was capable given his environmental scanners, which were NOT meant to be used in the depths of space--looked around at the vast expanse of stars around him.
This was not, his positional systems informed him, where he was supposed to be.
He reviewed the error list again...and realized that nearly all of it did not match up in any way with his internal repair schematics. It was, apparently, something that had been part of his new, spacefaring alt. His new, spacefaring alt that he did not remember receiving and which he knew very little about. Given that the broken component had been something that had come online right when he'd jumped into transwarp, his best guess was that his transwarp generator had just died.
His transwarp generator had just died, he was in space (not where he was supposed to be), and he had no idea how to get where he was going from here except to head in a straight line and hope that nothing complicated or dangerous was in between him and his destination.
This was bad.
Metroplex indulged himself in a minor panic for a klik or two, then isolated it into a subprocessor and considered his options, few as they were.
1) Do nothing. This would...result in him floating through space. Perhaps engaging the maneuvering engines he apparently had now, which might....eventually....get him to the coordinates in the Prime's message. Maybe.
2) Call for help. This could...be good or bad. Perhaps no one would answer (neutral result). Perhaps an alien species would answer (unknown result). Perhaps Autobots would answer (positive result). Perhaps Decepticons would answer (probable negative result).
Of course, choosing 1) meant that any of the consequences of 2) could happen ANYWAY.
...Metroplex engaged his communications array, sending out a shortwave pulse on the last known Autobot frequency. Mech in distress. Mechanical failure. Assistance needed. Mech in distress. Mechanical failure. Assistance needed....
