Name: Surefire
Age (or human equivalent): around the 20ish mark
Gender (or human equivalent): Male
Species: Seeker
Faction: Decepticon
Original Occupation: Surefire was sparked during the early days of the war when factions were just being made. His original occupation was that of a scientist and he still holds that passion to this day.
Occupation/Specialization: In my own stories, he is in fact a wandering mech who has joined a group that cannibalizes other's for energon. HOWEVER. I realize that this is a touchy subject and not appropriate for younger users, so let's just say he's a wanderer with a knack for the sadistic, and is learned in basic medical procedures. He's also quite the little scientist.
Appearance/Altmode: He’s a bit on the short side for a seeker. He's just under Starscream's height and his alt mode is a Dassault/Dornier Alpha jet. link link link His colors are Gold and black mainly with some purple highlights and purple optics.
History: Surefire was sparked into the war with one truth placed in his mind, and one truth only: That his loyalty should first lay with Vos, his place of origin, and second with his sire and his spark split. Then and only then should his faith be put into a faction, where he should fight for everything he believes in. This is how Surefire had come to see things as he would walk at his sire’s side with complete trust in his words. Nightstriker was everything he could want in a sire, wealthy, intelligent (for his passions lay with the sciences), and caring in the case of his two sparklings, and his loyalty to him and the decepticon symbol on his chest would never be broken. Or so he thought…
His maker had told him that the symbol on his chest was for his protection. He had told him that the thing was to give him a future that he could grasp onto, and due to his innocence he believed his beloved parent. However as time passed by, he watched horrors unfold that he never thought could happen. Surefire would watch as his loving sire would turn into a vicious killer for reasons he felt couldn’t be sound. It seemed that one symbol in particular would bring anger bubbling out from Nightstriker’s processor with a vengeance that none would face willingly were they of any intelligence at all, and so many died by his sire’s hand that seemed to have done nothing to deserve this death.
The young seeker saw these atrocities transpire with almost every decepticon he knew of, and couldn’t help but question their motives, or their supposedly sound judgment. Many things he did not understand, and slowly he began to hate the symbol engraved on his chest. So the young flier began to look for a way out, searching his processor for anything that could be useful to his escape. The autobot faction had been out of the question, and he knew his morals would never fit their code.
So he took flight, leaving his sire and his twin, Turboblast, in his wake. The flight to freedom was not near as profitable as the young cybertronian had hoped, however, and he found himself struggling just to survive. Every drop of unused energon now became a key to quenching his thirst, and he would do all he could just to find such a necessary substance. As time would wear on the innocence of his search for freedom outside the war began to form into a horrifying monster that simply craved for the scraps of others that could mean the difference between life and a painfully slow offlining.
Surefire’s processor no longer functioned on anything but raw instinct at most times, though his cunning and intelligence aided him often enough in his capture and disassembling of any bot who was unfortunate enough to cross the young seeker’s path. These instances not only familiarized the jet with cybertronian anatomy as a whole, but gave him more insight on how to properly defeat an enemy without getting more than a few scratches.
In this time he had managed to create a weapon to better defend him, as his frame was smaller than most bots he could find to attack. His tendency to experiment with scrap and weapons left behind from his killing sprees had become of use to him, and he found a way to harness outside and inner energy and concentrate it through the use of electrical receptors placed on his body to conduct electricity to an outside source. This weapon had cost him precious amounts of time to research and use properly however, and even then his systems could only take so much. He gained a need for knowledge through his experiences and eventually began to realize how low he had sunk with his need to survive. Clearly, survival was not enough anymore and he began to seek out his previous faction in hopes to reunite himself with their cause and with his family he once cared for so deeply.
His attempts to gain acceptance with the decepticons had been rough at first, but with some convincing of his usefulness he was able to enter into their ranks once more. His need for survival was free to continue on another level altogether, and to himself he vowed to fight his way to Megatron’s favor. Surefire became sparkbroken upon realizing his family was nowhere to be found, lost somewhere along the way of the war. The pain in his spark like that of losing his twin to death had never come, and so began his search.
Personality: Surefire can be quite the live wire and often finds himself in a bit of trouble thanks to his curiosity and childish ways. Despite his past as a wanderer, some innocence, or perhaps arrogance, seems to have been retained in his processor, and he gets quite a thrill from causing a rise out of his fellow decepticons. Even better, he loves to confuse the minds of the autobots, opting to toy with them when he isn’t ordered to offline one swiftly.
He can be confusing and somewhat double sided however, and it seems at times he doesn’t know which mood he wants to display the most, causing them to swing to and fro rather quickly at times. His curiosity and intelligence gives him a boost when it comes to science, but otherwise can be quite the annoyance to those around him. Surefire is slow to socialize, preferring to stick to his own devices, but once pushed just enough can turn out to be quite an amusement to his own dismay. His vanity and arrogance seems not to mesh well with his accident prone self, and this fact seems to prohibit others from taking him all too seriously. The seeker’s emotions tend to get in the way of his more logical thinking, but he considers this to make him more relatable. Whether this is true is likely a subject of debate.
In a fight, he can be absolutely vicious in one moment and cowardly in the next. This highly depends on survival and if anyone is willing to humor him with their protection or not. Therefore if he can manipulate to escape without injury, he will use any mech to his advantage. When survival is key, however, and no one is around? The claws come out…
Likes: Science, knowledge, experimentation, chemical warfare and weapon making, torture sessions, darkness and silence are his spark’s very beat. As much as he likes to pester others and get in their minds (not to mention preen in any flattery available), he loves his silence and dark rooms or corridors.
Dislikes: Being threatened, being called short, and being underestimated. He may dwell on the idea of torturing, but he despises the thought of energon or flaws marring his well-kept form and paint, finding it rather disgusting. Being confused or not filled in on every detail will nag at him, and he will nag at you in turn for answers.
Strengths/Weapons:
Dual Blasters Surefire does have a pair of blasters that his hands can transform into, and though small they may be they can pack a punch. But when all is said and done, they're just handguns. Not much to be afraid of there.
Wrist Blades The seeker has blades sheathed in his wrist compartments that he uses in hand to hand combat. Though just simple knives, a good amount of skill and speed can vitally damage any bot. Often though he just uses his claws to get his dirty work done.
Electric Shock One of his most effective and also his most compromising weapons, and one he invented in his times of wandering. Surefire is able to deal an extensive amount of damage with the electricity he has learned to harness and send shooting into another bot. These electric waves can be sent all at once in a burst, or transferred with contact, allowing him to control the amount of electricity used. This generally isn't deadly but can deal a good blow to his rival's vital systems. This does take a toll on his systems though, and he pays for it dearly if it's used too often.
Speed and Training In the end, his weapons may not be particularly deadly, and he may be very small in size, but his agile movements and skill in hand to hand give him quite the advantage in the battle field. Watch those vital energon lines and any exposed joint cabling hidden when the small seeker is around, as he will no doubt exploit any and all weaknesses to his advantage. Also, he’s obviously a flier, so he tends to use this to fall back before delivering another blow.
Weaknesses: He's not very formidable in the least, and relies too often on his quick reflexes and thinking. Pinning him down may be hard, but draining his energy isn't. He's childish and hates to be beaten, and will lash out with everything he has at once, often becoming his downfall. His armor is not thick, as he's built to be light in the air and on the ground. IF you can catch him alone and corner him, you may very well have the tiny seeker at your disposal..
Special skills (that are not weapon related): He's intelligent and cunning when his attitude isn't in the way, and is constantly going to build something new of use, whether it be weapons or something to use medically. You never know when he might have an extra weapon available of his own making. Whether the weapon will do much if any damage at all is a variable though as most weapons he brings to the field are experimental at best. He does have acrobatic training and will utilize this whenever he feels it necessary.
Sample RP:
Purple optics scanned the skies and spotted some seekers flying overhead. They couldn’t see him from his perch though, he knew. He sat there, polishing the helm plating of one of his many trophies as he hid in the dark of the overhanging cliff behind him. The sun of this rock slowly sank past the horizon, casting longer shadows throughout the afternoon and he rested casually in their protection, taking comfort that he was hidden from prying optics. His processor started to grasp at something however and he stared back down into the dim visor of his lifeless partner with a small frown.
Decepticons… That title rang a little alarm in the seeker’s processor and he looked up into the sky once more, the only thing that met his optics being that of an empty void of blue. Decepticons, here on this planet? His luck seemed to be looking brighter by the minute, and he was not about to pass up this chance. He gave the trophy in his hands one last loving stroke before placing it on the ground as he stood to go and greet his new future.
Hope at last, and an end to this long lived (albeit self-inflicted) loneliness was just over that ridge. Surefire’s wings lifted upward in a long lost sense of excitement and he ran toward the cliff, and away… away from his trophies, away from the darkness, and far, far away from his past. With a few clicks and whirrs, he had transformed into his alt mode, and shot back up to where he’d seen the fliers last. He was long past due for a reunion after all…
