Barricade's kick struck squarely on the torn, ruined expanse of her armor, sending renewed pain and error messages flashing through Shadow's processor, so that she landed badly on her already damaged left arm. She pushed herself up with a curse, vents cycling hard, relieved beyond measure that Ironhide was laying down heavy fire that precluded immediate pursuit, because it gave her a precious few kliks to shunt the error messages aside, force her systems back to functioning in some semblance of normal. As she did so, she tracked Barricade's flight with her optics, calculating interception paths, guessing at when Barricade would be out of range of Ironhide's seemingly-infinite variety of guns. And then, without warning, without a shot landing, Barricade went down into a near miss, went down and stayed down, thrashing and curling in on himself.
With a shriek of damaged plating twisting around itself, Shadow folded into her alt, racing across scorched, torn up dirt before Ironhide had even stopped firing. She wouldn't risk Barricade finding another hidden reserve of strength and resuming his escape.
She skidded to a halt a few yards from Barricade's fallen form, transformation sequence lurching, catching, sending her to her knees beside the Decepticon. He glared at her, optics wild-bright, hate crackling through his EMF, dental plates bared in an energon-smeared snarl. Fresh energon flowed freely from the stab wound low on his chassis, cutting a bright path through the caked dirt covering the rest of him.
Shadow cycled her blaster up as she rose, keeping it trained on him as she cautiously used one pede to roll him onto his back. For the moment, Barricade didn't look like he was going anywhere...but she'd feel better with Ironhide at hand to make certain of that fact while she worked. She flared her sensors in Ironhide's direction; he hadn't moved, still braced and ready to open fire again if Barricade made another move. Without taking her optics from Barricade, she sent a quick comm to the big red mech. ::Intel says this fragger has the failsafe codes for Megatron's planet-killer. Want to come hold him still while I try to pry them out?:: A smile twisted her facial plates, dark with promise, as she added, ::And if you see Barricade's plasma blades lying around over there, bring them. I think they'll come in useful.::
