Autobots
Led by Optimus Prime on the front line of the ongoing war, the Autobots are so beaten down that they are a scattered, outnumbered and often outgunned faction. They no longer have any significant outposts across the galaxy as far as they are aware, but despite this they stand defiant against the Decepticons here on Earth. Their dwindled numbers in the face of unrealistic statistics has only strengthened their resolve.
On Earth, they operate out of Nevada in a secret base provided by the United States government in order to stand against the Decepticon threat. The base is modest and small comparative to Cybertronian needs, but they may do with what they have, and return the favor by helping out the humans with any issues they can that does not gift them technology their species are not ready for.
Fighting for what is right and fair, the Autobots strive to not only protect themselves, but aim to keep the native species of the planet safe and secure. They follow a more 'family' approach to how to run their team which has served them well enough to a degree, though there are some ranks still active just to disperse trouble if it were to occur without dragging their Prime into it.
Decepticons
Led by Megatron on the Decepticon flagship, the Decepticons have a far more stable hold in this war, and have multiple outposts across space. While communication with these outposts is hindered and minimal, it is enough to provide further proof of their power. They have armies of drones and soldiers, and have fully operational mining capabilities, stripping Energon mines bare.
As of now however, their Warship has fallen and the Decepticons have been forced to find shelter at the ground-bound Blackridge Hold, a rocky makeshift set up that was never built for such numbers. This location had been rumored to be where Decepticons are sent to die. Soon, the Nemesis may be risen again, though it will be some time before it is fully functional once more.
Overall far more militaristic and cruel, the Decepticons strive to conquer all in front of them, and ruthlessly crush the Autobots under their might. Trust is as thin a word as tissue paper, and survival can sometimes come at the cost of others. You do as you are told, and watch your own back, less you get jettisoned out of an airlock for insubordination.
Neutrals
'Neutrals' are an overarching term that can apply to many different variables, but always depicts a Cybertronian who has either defected or never held an active place in the war for one reason or another. The number of ways that someone can remain a Neutral, and the reasoning's behind it, can vary as much as a Cybertronian's appearance can. They are a large blank slate that needs to be filled in. But in doing so, there are some concerns that need to be addressed.
Without a strong pool of Neutral Characters currently in play, RP opportunities can be severely limited, especially since most focus on the war, overarching story, and their own character's interests. Not all characters may be interested in interacting with the unaligned faction, but this is an in-character perspective and not a reflection of you personally.
A user that wishes to pursue such a character, must understand that they will not get as many RP opportunities, and some players will NOT have ability to RP with them readily. You will have to be aggressive about fitting yourself in, and create a character tailored to tackle the complications and hurdles set out before you. If you do not think these challenges appeal to you, than we strongly suggest you start off with an Autobot or Decepticon. If you like challenges and have your heart set on playing 'Hard Mode'? Don't let us scare you! The Neutral faction codeword is Kiwi, and needs to be applied in the appropriate section in your application.
A quick note. If you wish to have a Neutral bounty hunter or trader that works on commission for both Autobot and Decepticons? You will want to possibly think of other ideas or just choose a side to favor. Balancing both factions to keep them happy enough to even trust to do business with you is exceptionally difficult.
Humans
The most variable and wide spread faction, Humans consist of well... every human on this meager little world!
Civilian life is an easy catch all, and sticks your character out in the metaphorical wilderness to find their own path in this world. Getting involved with the Autobots to be welcome into Omega One can be tricky however, as Optimus tries hard to not make the same mistake he did with Miko, Jack, and Rafael.
In contrast, military and NEST associated humans that get appointed to work under Fowler, and by extension the Autobots, have the option of going into the Omega Outpost and interacting with Cybertronian on a daily basis. This small faction is ideal for getting directly involved, but comes with a catch. Your character MUST poses some kind of attribute or skill that makes them valuable enough to even HAVE on the base. This does not need to be militaristic skills, and can be utility such as maintenance or even janitorial.
MECH characters cannot currently be applied for, as they are only used in specific scenarios where they will be needed for the occasional event. However, should you have an idea of how to integrate them in a more day-to-day setting that is realistic? Contact an Administrator.
Overall, humans are very difficult characters to play, simply because they are oddballs in a sea of Cybertronians. Not all Cybertronians will even WANT to play with a human, and this is not a reflection on you OOC, but a reflection of how they IC view the lesser species. You will have to be aggressive about fitting yourself in. If you do not think you are up to these challenges, then we strongly suggest you start off with an Autobot or Decepticon. If you like challenges and have your heart set on playing 'Hard Mode'? Don't let us scare you! The Human faction codeword is Pineapple, and needs to be applied in the appropriate section in your application.
