The buzzing in the back of her mind had woken Blackarachnia from her recharge.
There was another active Insecticon here.
The surprise she felt at the resurgence of an Insection signal was considerable. Here? On Earth, a planet remarkable for it's almost complete lack of non-organic life? She'd never considered the possibility before. For some time, it was simply an annoyance in the back of her mind, a sign that it's source was somewhere on the planet, but far from here... then the signal got stronger and stronger, and she soon realised that, surprising or not, the other Insecticon knew she was here somewhere too, and was looking for her. That settled it, as far as she was concerned.
After all, Autobots and Decepticons were one thing, but one of her own race would always take precedence... and not just because, nine times out of ten, her willpower and intelligence was superior to theirs.
Although that was part of the reason too.
Transforming into her altmode, Blackarachnia raced out of the caves she called home, following the path she'd created up and out into the Mojave desert. The signal was still there, the other hive member hadn't left, she still had time to catch it. Ah, there, it was getting stronger, more sure. It was close. Racing towards the direction in which it seemed to be strongest, avoiding the various potholes in the mountain road as she did so, she drove on, determined to find the source. Another Insecticon on Earth could mean many things, aside from the fact that she could potentially make herself the commander of a hive again, and Blackarachnia wanted answers.
Finally, the signal became so strong as to be completely impossible to ignore. There he was.
Transforming, Blackarachnia approached cautiously, though with enough confidence to reinforce who's territory this was. After all, if this drone was not in fact a drone, then there could be issues here. The sort of issues that involved the spilling of energon, and only one of them walking away from the disagreement.
"Well, well. And what are you doing here, hm?"
