Character Info
Name: Bluestreak
Age: Human equivalent would be late-twenties
Gender: Male
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Original Occupation: Delivery Mech
Occupation/Specialization: Sharpshooter/Sniper
Appearance/Altmode: Bluestreak is slightly above average height, standing marginally taller than Ratchet. He's not a bulky mech; he's streamlined and a bit narrow. The hood of his car mode is his chest, and the doors of the vehicle flare out over his shoulders. His paint is a sleek silver-grey over most of his plating; accented with darker grey and touches of metallic blue here and there. In some places the blue has scraped away to reveal a bad cover up of the red underneath. Across the front of his helm is a red chevron. On his left shoulder is a mounted missile launcher; the right one was broken off and capped with a patch and has never been replaced.
His optics are two slightly different shades of blue. The right is darker than the left, but it's only noticeable in some situations.
He transforms into a 2011 Nissan 370Z Nismo.
Alternate Mode:
History: Bluestreak was sparked a bit before the Great War. He was a civilian, and he worked as a delivery mech, running packages and product back and forth between the cities for companies and individuals. Bluestreak was utterly content being part of the working class, and honestly enjoyed his job and the freedoms it offered him; he was always going somewhere new, meeting new mechs. He loved his job, his friends, and his one room apartment that overlooked his home city of Praxus.
Bluestreak’s personal hobby was target shooting. Unlike some of his peers, he never hunted turbofoxes or retrorats. He never liked the idea of killing anything living. He simply enjoyed the skill; how to calculate for distance, wind, measurements, and angles. It was precise, it required thought and dedication.
When the war broke out, he understood why it was happening, but unlike many of those around him, he sympathized with many of the views on both sides. Even as it escalated, no matter what those around him attempted to convince him to do, he politely refused. He simply wanted to stay out of it all.
Unfortunately, his city became the target of a major assault, and Praxus was destroyed. No building, no records, no mech survived the assault from the Decepticons.
Well, nothing but Bluestreak. He’d been called in to deliver a late night rush package outside of Praxus. When the Decepticon forces blew every bridge, Bluestreak had the fortunate luck to be traveling out of the city towards Iacon... and the unfortunate luck to go down with the structure.
He was buried in the rubble. By some miracle, he was barely injured. However, it was days before he was able to claw his way to the surface enough to be detected and rescued by a team of Autobots searching for survivors.
Bluestreak chose his side that day, and he’s been with the Autobots ever since. His sharpshooting hobby is now something deeply personal; driven by ghosts and survivor’s guilt.
Personality:
Soft-hearted and good-natured, Bluestreak is kind, compassionate and friendly. Strangers, new things, and new places fascinate him greatly. He loves reading old tales of heroism (even if he does tend to skip to the end first to make sure they have a happy ending.)
Bluestreak isn't blue-colored, but he sure talks one. Anyone who strikes up a conversation with Blue will find themselves having to keep up. He talks about Earth, he talks about the weather, he talks about human television shows (and will tell you all about his theories that those reality shows are actually staged.) He will chatter a mech up one side of a mountain and right back down again, with a bunch of jokes and idle observations thrown along the trek. Because of this, he often comes across to many mechs as completely lacking in some vital brain components. It's as if he doesn't take much seriously at all.
However, bring up Cybertron or the Decepticons, and Bluestreak's gregarious nature often falters. He has an obvious distaste for mechs who think war is fun and thrilling; he doesn't hesitate to tell them so. He doesn't enjoy combat in the slightest, and he doesn't like hurting people. The only thing that often keeps him going about his tasks is that he knows that he's got fellow Autobots and those who get caught in the crossfire depending on him.
Likes: Bad jokes. Reading heroic tales of the old days. Talk radio. Friends. Oceans. Good rifles. Scopes. Low wind days.
Dislikes: Decepticons. Physical combat. Mechs who brag about killing. Bridges. Politics. Enclosed spaces.
Strengths/Weapons: Bluestreak is an amazingly accurate sharpshooter and sniper. His main weapon is an ion-charge disperser/projectile rifle. This rifle has a tight build tolerance and very precise components, plus a telescopic sight booster that syncs up with similar systems in his right eye. The gun clips into a spot across his back; it is not a built in weapon. It switches between the two modes it has with a flick of his thumb.
On the ion-charge mode the rifle mechanism electrifies a line of particles in the air in the direction it's pointed. Used like this, the weapon's accuracy and distance is greatly limited to closer range. The weapon's attack resembles a bolt of blue lightning. It functions as a low-level EMP, temporarily disrupting and scrambling electrical relays. He mostly uses this feature on security cameras, electric locks... and the occasional stubborn stop light when no one's around to see him do it.
It can be used on Cybertronians themselves as well, however there's a good chance it may not work due to most of them having protective shielding.
When the rifle is in standard mode, it carries eight rounds of calibrated and balanced ammunition. The rounds are made to punch through heavy armor, but retain their shape and drive as deeply as possible into the target. When standing still and set up correctly, Bluestreak's aim is so precise he can shoot a six inch by six inch target at a distance of two miles.
Bluestreak's small shoulder mounted rocket launcher carries one shell. It is capable of going up to eight miles with a maximum error margin of 12 feet from target at that distance. He uses this to punch holes through walls, fortifications, or disrupt blockades. He will never fire this at a mech.
In automobile mode, Bluestreak is among some of the most efficient Autobots. He can sustain speeds of up to 150 mph for more than 12 hours.
Weaknesses:
Bluestreak's rifle is his crutch. It’s how he’s able to focus during stressful combat situations. The only reason he's able to shoot someone at all is because of the distance and that he has throw all of his concentration into the technical aspects of the shot itself. It's also the fact that he can disassociate himself from the injury he causes since he’s not up close and personal.
This rifle is calibrated for him, and he knows the quirks and balances of the weapon inside out. If the rifle is damaged or taken out of commission, Bluestreak will be downright neurotic until it's back in his grasp. If it is taken from him, he will be desperate to get it back.
Has an extreme aversion to physical combat. Bluestreak can throw a punch in desperation, but he will do everything he can to avoid close combat in the first place. He's been stopped dead in his tracks a few times by his reluctance and fear to fight hand to hand.
Bluestreak is gephyrophobic. This fear of bridges will cause him to choose an alternate route if one is available. If he has to cross a bridge, he has a tendency to either go across as quickly as he can in a fluster... or he has a good chance of locking up midway and someone needs to go and shove him off the bridge.
He's also incredibly claustrophobic. In a room, he'll always be close to the door or a window if it's possible, or at least in the most open space possible he can be.
Special skills: Bluestreak’s learning how to surf. It wasn't very graceful, and he sunk like a rock after, but he’s now working towards this goal and watching a lot of random ESPN channels. He’s fascinated with it for the same reasons he likes target shooting; all the factors that go into it and how effortless it seems... but how difficult it really is. Especially if you’re a giant alien made of metal.
