Name: Blurr
Age: ~23
Gender: Male
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Original Occupation: Racer
Occupation/Specialization: Whatever the Autobots need him to be// Special operative//
Appearance/Altmode: Blurr is a tiny frame for a male Autobot. He stands at roughly Arcee's height with only a little more bulk to him than her. His head is taken up by two bright, inquisitive optics and a mouth that moves a mile a second. His head's fins stretch back a bit, and atop his head is a backward facing spike, two air intakes on either side of his slim face in his usual bright blue. The side prongs of his alt mode stand on his shoulders, stretching a bit higher than his head, and his torso is a pleasant patchwork of black and blue paint. His forearms are the same blue as his shoulders and he has white fingers attached to his black hands. Notably compared to other Autobots, his legs end in his wheels with very little 'foot' to speak of, allowing him to roll about on his back wheels for a speedier getaway in robot mode. In vehicle mode, Blurr is a concept Lamborghini Feruccio, as seen here: link
History: Blurr was sparked after the war between the Autobots and Decepticons started, in neutral territory on the other side of the planet. From the start, he was all about speed; racing was the fire in his spark and there was nothing that he loved better. And even better for him, there hadn't been a faster bot sparked in eons. He dominated the racing course, where on leave Autobots and Decepticons both laid down their arms to enjoy the old national past time. Or... that was how it had been.
The race started like any other. Blurr, some Autobot racers and some Decepticon racers on the track for the Cybertron cup. The first two laps of the race went as normal, with Blurr quickly securing a lead. And then... things went straight to the Pit. Three Decepticon warships showed up and opened fire on the track, on both Blurr and the Autobots. Being too brave for his own good, Blurr launched himself with all his great speed off of the destroyed track and in to one of the ships, trying in vain to get them to stop. His lack of fighting skills ensured he was blasted out of the vessel, presumed dead by the attackers.
Blurr awoke in an Autobot medical bay on the Decagon, and immediately signed up. He couldn't forgive people who were so willing to destroy so many lives in a demilitarized zone. Blurr spent lunations training, making himself faster, finding weapons that suited him and his blindingly fast speed. He did whatever it took to serve the Autobots in his particular niche. He learned how to overclock his systems to go as quickly as possible, giving him his rapid speech and movement he is known for these days.
As the war dragged on, Blurr proved himself to the point of becoming a special operative, doing whatever it was the Autobots needed him to do with the kind of efficiency and speed only he can provide. When the Autobots picked up word of a Decepticon hiding out on a waterlogged planet called Earth during the hunt for the AllSpark, Blurr and his partner were dispatched to investigate. Blurr has been in hiding on the planet since then, tracking his target silently. He's unaware of the fact that the other Autobots are now on Earth, but he's finally picked up the trail of his operation again and found himself in the congested streets of Hong Kong. This was going to be a long mission...
Personality: Blurr is a very friendly bot once you get past his speed. He talks fast, thinks fast and moves fast... to the point where he can be a little difficult to understand if he's not explicitly told to slow down a few times. He enjoys doing things with a fast pace, be it racing or rock music or the speedy action of video games he's seen in passing. Which isn't to say he doesn't enjoy slower things, but seeing Blurr actually doing them is almost a contradiction. He enjoys helping his Autobot brothers and goofing off as much as the next guy, but he knows when to get serious. He's quite proud of his speed and his accomplishments and likes bragging about them, but is pretty down to earth about it and more than happy to give people and rivals pointers. Blurr also has a sense of theatrics, and on occasion he'll play up a part for everyone's amusement.
Additionally, Blurr is quite bright. All of his custom parts were hand built, and they were built by the bot himself. He's taught himself how to do everything he knows, from his overclocking to self repairs. He's also quite the detective, and often helps with recon missions when he's not on other business. Blurr is smart enough to know when to cut his losses and run, and his great speed ensures he can almost always escape a problem. Surprisingly, Blurr is a very calm person when not on the job despite how hyperactive he seems to be as he simply processes things much faster than most bots. Sadly, Blurr often thinks about jokes much too fast for him to get them and it's not unusual for him to mistake jokes as literal for a few seconds. Despite his small frame and weak body, Blurr has the courage to draw the fire from his friends and provide a distraction while they escape, and is more than willing to sacrifice himself to save them.
Likes: Racing, the Autobots, being useful, fast things, arcade games, his private log, karaoke
Dislikes: Decepticons, being shot at, being kept waiting, being trapped in one place, letting his friends down
Strengths/Weapons: Super Speed: There is no faster Cybertronian than Blurr on the ground. In vehicle mode, he is capable of breaking the sound barrier with ease... and he's no slouch in robot mode either. Blurr is fast enough to avoid laser fire and most attacks with relative ease.
Super Agility: Blurr's speed wouldn't mean much if he wasn't agile enough to make use of it. His agility combined with his speed ensures Blurr can make a quick and easy entrance and exit... and make sure he's not hit in the process.
Blurr's Rapier: A thin, sharp blade of metal as fast and efficient as Blurr himself. Though it isn't particularly powerful, it gets the job done.
Blurr's Energon pistol: A small, simple pistol built in to Blurr's off arm. It's a weak blaster meant more to disorient and distract than do damage.
The Ninja: Blurr's training with the Autobots left him with a good idea of how to hide away and keep himself hidden. He's skilled in infiltrating and leaving areas without attracting much attention, something his great speed helps with. He maintains a signal dampner to hide his Autobot signal from those he's spying on.
Custom Medic: Though it isn't useful with other bots, Blurr knows how to maintain his custom build of delicate, high-efficiency parts. He can repair himself in the field without needing a proper medic, provided it isn't something decidedly medical wrong with him.
Grapple line: Comparable to the one Jazz once had, Blurr is outfitted with a weak grapple line. It isn't strong enough to pull down great doors or flying bots, but it's enough for him to get to places he can't jump to on his own power.
Weaknesses: Potato Chip: For all Blurr's speed and agility, he has all the durability of a bad of potato chips. Even a glancing blow is enough to deal significant damage to Blurr, meaning that he either has to avoid fighting all together or find a way to end the fight before his speed and luck give out.
No Signal: Thanks to his own masking signal, Blurr's signals are invisible to his fellow Autobots. While it is active, he cannot transmit a distress call... or contact the other Autobots, leaving him on his own.
Custom bot: Blurr's heavy customizations have made him as fast as he is, but these are also parts he's had to design for himself. Normal spare parts are simply incompatible with his customizations; unless it's something to do with his spark or his internals, he's the only one capable of fixing himself.
Snap: Though Blurr has a grapple line, it isn't very strong. It's strong enough to pull him up to places he can't jump, but if he were to attempt to yank down a fighter or a door the line would simply snap. The line can also be cut by blades or carefully aimed shots.
Special skills: Blurr is a skilled courier and racer, with all the driving skills that comes with it. In vehicle mode, few Cybertronians can match his speed and driving mastery. He's also quite the detective, capable of finding and following trails if he's looking for something.
Extra Info: Blurr keeps a private log of his adventures that he has recorded in the form of a story, a fact he doesn't share with a lot of people.
Blurr picked up a like for karaoke and arcade games while following a lead in South Korea. Karaoke is difficult for him to do, however, because of how fast he speaks.
Though Blurr has some trouble with it, he's getting much better at talking at a rate that others can understand.
Despite his attempts, Blurr's overclocking is permanent. He has attempted to restore his systems to normal speeds, but it simply doesn't stick; the overclocked speeds are his default now.
Sample RP: So here it was. Locus Technologies, Ltd. He'd been chasing this link for years, and he'd finally found it. This Decepticon was tricky, he'd come to Earth ten years ago and may as well have vanished. But Blurr was persistent, if nothing else. He'd gone all over North America and come up with nothing but a very nice new alt mode. It wasn't until he saw one of those television screens in a TV shop showing an interview with a normal looking middle aged man. Normal looking... except for the Decepticon sigil on his tie. It was an innocent thing to anyone else, but he knew what it meant. He was the owner of Locust Technologies, Ltd.
But that was just one part. When Blurr tried to pull up files on him, they were vague. Anything that would have had better information was behind digital gates he couldn't get around. What he wouldn't have given for a good computer specialist to be here... but it was what it was. The next thing to do was investigate the company. He didn't understand a lot of it; things specific to this planet's inhabitants he supposed. But he recognized plenty of it. This Decepticon was amassing resources by selling old Cybertron tech derivatives. They looked like scrap, but to these poor creatures it was cutting edge.
So he tracked where Locust Ltd's headquarters were. If there was any way to get answers, it was from the source itself. Their production facilities were across the sea, and getting himself shipped over wasn't the easiest of jobs... but he managed. He found himself in a place called South Korea for a few days while the ship unloaded some of its cargo, so the stealthy Autobot decided to investigate one of the business facilities in the city they'd docked in. He snuck in to a warehouse and found the Cybertronian tech. 'Locust Technologies, Ltd., is a home grown company from Bangkok, Thailand...' the package read on one of its sides. That was all he needed. He knew which ship to board.
And after all that runaround, he was parked in the headquarters' parking lot, blue paint sparkling in the sunlight peeking through the clouds of today's rain shower. The streets here were more congested than what he was used to. His infiltration started small; he'd sent a holographic pretender in to the facility dressed like an employee. He had him ask what the password for their wireless network was, pretending to be a new worker. It was almost too easy to get that.
It was entry level, but Blurr had access to what he needed. He would have been grinning audio to audio if he wasn't in alt mode, but he was sniffed out fast. Too fast. Let the games begin, Autobot. He was shunted out of the network just that quickly. Oh yes, whoever this Decepticon was, he wasn't playing around. His position was going to have been compromised. He'd have to go and try to get in elsewhere. He needed to find that businessman; that was what would lead him to the Decepticon he was shadowing.
'OkaymaybethisisgoingtobemoredifficultthanI'dexpected...' Blurr thought to himself, his processor whizzing. He pulled in to reverse and pulled out on the road. The lunch traffic had eased off. He'd come back at night, when the streets were clearer. Then he'd have a better time of it. And with any luck, they hadn't picked out his alt mode as the source of the hack yet...
