Name/Alias: House
-Character Info-
Name: Wheeljack
Age (or human equivalent): Middle aged
Gender (or human equivalent): Mech
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobots
Original Occupation: Engineer
Occupation/Specialization: Wrecker
Appearance/Altmode:
Short but stocky, Wheeljack's frame is solidly constructed with dense armour as befitting a battle-hardened warrior. The outer layer of his frame are coloured white while around his joints and on the inside of his limbs, its grey. His frame has red and green highlights on his chest, shins and forearms. Wheeljack's Autobrand sits on the centre of his chest.
Wheeljack's front tyres rest in his shoulders and his back tyres are stored in the side of his shins. Two flat pieces of metal sit on his back. These are an artefact from his alt mode and serve no functional purpose in root mode. Wheeljack stores his two blades in inbuilt hilts that jut above his shoulders.
He has blue optics and thick brows above them. A permanent scar cuts across his lip plates. Wheeljack also has a battle-mask that can be drawn up to protect his face during a fight. His helm had a small blunt 'horn' on top of it.

Wheeljack transforms into a 2011 Lancia Stratos. A somewhat awkward alt-mode to explain given that it is a concept car.
History:
Wheeljack doesn't remember much of his early vorns and even the war is a bit of a blur to him. His clearest memories actually start on Cybertron just before the Exodus when he was found by an Autobot patrol. That probably has something to do with the fact they found him near the ruins of Crystal City. You know, the place where Shockwave had quite a few of his labs back in the day and probably still has some hidden there even now. There's a large gap in Wheeljack's memories between being found and the last mission he can recall going on. It wouldn't surprise him, really, to find out that he took an unscheduled vacation in Shockwave's lair.
(Interestingly enough and perhaps merely an odd coincidence, the first recorded use of the cortical psychic patch on Autobot soldiers started some time after Wheeljack's disappearance)
He still retained strong memories of his time as a Wrecker, fortunately for the mechs that knew him best. Similarly, his engineering capabilities and his love and skill for explosives remain untouched by the scrubbing brush someone -Shockwave- attempted to take to his memories. Wheeljack had been a talented engineer at the Crystal City technoversity. He'd been onlined for experimental mechanical design, his job required that he'd push and improve the limits of current machinery. His cohort previously had a mech in such a role but this mech was killed due to one of his experiments exploding, hence Wheeljack's commissioning.
Surrounded by some of the greatest minds of his time, Wheeljack's ego has been allowed to flourish undiminished as his own genius earned him accolades from his peers and mentors. He become obstinate from arguing and advocating scientific theories amongst the fiercest academic circles on Cybertron. Wheeljack was not one to just debate endlessly, he worked hard in his lab to generate data proving his ideas. He was a mech of action, so when war came to Cybertron, he could not sit by passively and let it roll past or bury his helm in the ground and pretend it was not happening like many of his peers did. At first, he turned his servos to weapon development but as time past and the fighting did not abate, he eventually signed on with the Autobots, finding their morals and tenets more in line with his personal views than the Decepticons.
Despite how isolated and removed the scientific world could be from the rest of Cybertronian society, this actually prepared Wheeljack well for military life. The confidence and stubbornness he'd developed by advancing his own ideas to mechs many times his age allowed him to keep his helm high in high stress situations. The many tools he'd handled, heat guns, soldering irons, wrenches, hammers and just about everything else, had made his servos steady and agile. He adapted easily -some would say, far too easily- to whatever weaponry he applied himself to. The only thing that gave him trouble was handling authority. Wheeljack had become accustomed to pursuing his research independently and at his own discretion. To suddenly be placed at another mech's command...Wheeljack was chafed at this and earned several marks against his record for his insubordination. However, his unique skill set as both a highly talented soldier and engineer was highly prized, eventually earning himself a place amongst the Wreckers.
There, he met Bulkhead and forged a long-standing friendship. More accurately, he became Amica Endura with Bulkhead. Wheeljack flourished under the unconventional command style of the Wreckers, forming strong bonds with the crew and undertaking missions that should have seen them all dead. The high attrition rate that plagued the Wreckers never did claim Wheeljack though. However, after Bulkhead left and when Ultra Magnus took control of the unit, he lost that sense of camaraderie and left the team, striking out on his own and eventually ending up on that fateful mission that probably saw him into Shockwave's laboratory.
When Cybertron finally went dark, Wheeljack left Cybertron aboard the Jackhammer. His travels took him all over the known verse and then some. Eventually, his path brought him to Earth, where he came into contact with Optimus Prime and his team. Not even the presence of Bulkhead was enough to sway him into staying on Earth again and he was quick to head off again. But it was not long before events conspired that sent him back to that part of the galaxy...
Personality:
Wheeljack is headstrong and abrasive. He pays little heed to authority and is supremely confident in his own skills and his ability to handle whatever situation comes his way. As a consequence, he tends to shoot first, ask question later and will happily throw himself into battle. He is extremely loyal to his old Wrecker crew. Wheeljack tends to work on his own, operating on a lone-wolf mentality. However, he doesn't mind working in a team -provided it’s the right one. Unfortunately, there hasn't been one that's felt right since he left the Wreckers...
Likes:
Explosives. Bulkhead. Wreckers. Building explosives. Weapons. Building weapons. The Jackhammer. Wandering the galaxy. Being a lone-wolf (ish)
Dislikes:
Decepticons, Megatron, Shockwave, authority, Optimus Prime (ish), Ultra Magnus, mechs who can't fly and keep murdering ships using the face of the Earth.
Strengths/Weapons:
Wheeljack is an extremely capable and experienced warrior. He is a highly skilled, dual wielding swordsman. He has inbuilt energy canons with plenty of stopping power. Wheeljack is a formidable presence on the battlefield, able to power his way through waves of enemies. Generally speaking, the average mech that goes up against Wheeljack tends not to last long. He is strong, agile, quick on his feet and deadly.
Wheeljack is also extremely tough and can take more than his share of a beating. His frame originally was commissioned to be durable and with blast armour, a special, almost heavy-duty really, medium armour class. As Wheeljack's predecessor in his engineering cohort had been killed by an explosion resulting from his own experiments, Wheeljack's frame had actually been built with withstanding explosions in mind. In fact, his armour underwent very little modification overall to get it up to Wrecker standards. As a consequence, he is much faster and manoeuvrable than others of the same armour class simply due to the fact he was designed and sparked for it.
Wheeljack also has a fondness for grenades, a one grenade, one shot strategy as Bulkhead dubs to it. Anything in his servos doesn't remain harmless for long and Wheeljack is highly familiar with all sorts of weaponry due to his time as a Wrecker.
Weaknesses:
Impatient and impulsive, Wheeljack is supremely confident in his own abilities and with good reason to, he is that good. However, this does mean he has the tendency to jump head first into situations without looking or thinking about the consequences or calling for back-up. This can mean he winds up in situations that might just be a little over his head. But only a little.
He is also rather insubordinate. Wheeljack doesn't do well with authority and his clashes with leadership can be a disruptive influence on team dynamics.
Additionally, while Wheeljack is an expert melee combatant, his aim with a gun isn't quite on par with his sword fighting skills.
Special skills:
Engineer/mechanic - Wheeljack applies most of his engineering knowledge into building weapons and better explosives. He's also a very good mechanic, using those skills mainly to fix the Jackhammer and himself.
Combat veteran - Wheeljack's been there, done that, seen it all. As a consequence of his experience, he is got good at worming his way out of tricky situations.
Demolition expert- Wheeljack knows his explosives. Very well. Very well indeed.
Jackhammer: Wheeljack is a skilled pilot and is well travelled in both explored and deep space. He flies the Jackhammer, a two mech starship. Over time, he's extensively modified the ship. He has an uplink with it that allows him to boost his comm signals if he is in range by bouncing his signals off the Jackhammer's communication array. Wheeljack can also remote pilot the ship if he is within comm range. However, the Jackhammer's computer is fairly basic, so it takes him an large amount of time for him to program it and will leave him defenceless.
Extra Info:
Amica Endura: Wheeljack and Bulkead are Amica Endura, basically platonic life buddies for the rest of their existence.
Ratchet, we will not build Dinobots.
