Smokescreen transforms into a red and blue McLaren 12C. Not exactly the most inconspicuous disguises out in the middle of Nevada.
History:
Smokescreen was part of the Last Sparked, he was onlined mid-way through the war and cohort raised by a group of Autobot soldiers. He grew up on Autobot battle stories and believed firmly in the cause, idolizing famous soldiers such as Optimus Prime and the Wreckers. Young, eager, he joined up with the Elite Guard, which was in decline by the time he got there and actually little more than glorified boot-camp, much to his disappointment. Despite this, Smokescreen was an adept cadet, taking his lessons to spark. He came out as a rather capable soldier, extremely inexperienced but with an unusually keen set of instincts for one so young. His instructors flagged him out as a promising recruit for further training...but by that time, the Autobots were in such desperate need of soldiers, Smokescreen was drafted straight into guard duty at the Iacon Hall of Records.
During the initial attack that lead to Iacon's fall, Smokescreen was injured severely enough he was set up in a stasis pod in a hospital in Iacon, which was later bombed while he was still awaiting repairs. During the bombing, the pod was buried deep as the building collapsed and was not recoverable during the initial salvage/rescue attempt made by the retreating Autobot forces. The pod had its own independent energy supply, a necessity borne out of failing energon supplies and -due to the deep stasis Smokescreen was in at the time- it was able to sustain him throughout the many vorns as the war raged on and eventually died down with preparations for the Exodus.
And so he would have remained buried within Iacon's crust and lost when the planet was abandoned. Fortunately, he was saved when an old mech managed to uncover the pod whilst salvaging through the wreckage left in Iacon. The mech -Smokescreen never did catch his name- was incredibly wise and kind. He repaired Smokescreen and onlined the young soldier to the confusion of the Exodus. The two traversed Cybertron for a while as Smokescreen attempted to make his way to an Autobot evacuation point, during which he learned much about the war from his old companion. They were, however, separated during a Decepticon attack and Smokescreen never saw the other mech again. He was taken prisoner and later onlined aboard a Decepticon prison ship. His escape from the prison ship sets him on the path for Earth.
Personality:
Smokescreen is young, enthusiastic and very inexperienced about just everything. He has missed out on huge chunks of the war which has made him determined to prove himself in battle. Smokescreen is, essentially, a child soldier, he was onlined mid-way through the war and has never really known any other reality. He has, however, been sheltered from the full brunt of the war and has never experienced its true horrors. Smokescreen idolizes celebrated war-heroes and desires to be a great warrior, believing that there is glory to be found on the battlefield and that he is destined for greatness. Despite his youth, Smokescreen has a remarkably sensible head on his shoulders through the training he received with the Elite Guard.
Likes:
Optimus Prime, Autobots, the Wreckers, war, fighting, proving himself, Optimus Prime
Dislikes:
Decepticons, failing his heroes
Strengths/Weapons:
Smokescreen remains level-headed even in the thick of things, using his processor first before resorting to his guns. Smokescreen thinks fast, plans fast and is quite creative, coming up with strategies on the fly and adapting quickly to situations as they come. He is fast on his feet and in his alt-mode. Smokescreen is armed with standard energy blasters and has medium grade armour.
Weaknesses:
Smokescreen hasn't seen a lot of combat, though he doesn't let that hold him back from joining the fray. He relies mostly on theoretical knowledge, second hand accounts and his own creativity to get him through fights. Sometimes this is enough, but his inexperience does render him vulnerable to combat-hardened mecha with thousands of vorns of experience over him. Because of his eagerness to prove himself, he sometimes will take on reckless challenges that beyond his ability to handle. Smokescreen isn't a very good melee fighter, he prefers to rely on his guns instead.
Special skills:
N/A: Despite how long Smokescreen's been alive for, relatively speaking, much of this time has been spent in stasis. Doesn't exactly give a mech the opportunity to learn something new. Similarly, his frame has undergone little modification beyond what he received as a basic Elite Guard recruit.
Extra Info:
Theoretically, if there was an Optimus Prime fan club (there is) and it had members (just one), this guy would probably be president (he is) and own all the merchandise (there isn't any, much to his eternal despair).
