Name: Kitandcaboodle (Kit for short)
Age (or human equivalent): Twenty
Gender (or human equivalent): Femme
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Original Occupation: Repair and Maintenance.
Occupation/Specialization: Repair and Maintenance, gopher, possibly scout in the future.
Appearance/Altmode: Kit is about as small as full size bots go, standing half a head shorter than Arcee. Since she slouches and slinks, she seems even smaller. Her colour scheme, in keeping with her unglamorous function is plain grey and lighter grey protoform.
From Head to Toe: Kit’s head has a distinctive hood like cowling, designed to heavily shield her sensors from extraneous input. She has a trio of red optics in an equilateral triangle formation, giving her the quintessential third eye. The rest of her face is just a simple smooth black, barring a mostly invisible mouth. On the sloped sides of her cowl like head are two heavy duty, triangular audio receptors.
At the sides of Kit’s neck and flowing back are Air intakes, and at the back of her neck, her vehicle mode handlebars. Kit’s arms are long and get progressively thicker towards her hands. Those hands are formed from her alt mode’s rear wheels and hang at knee height. Her chest is formed from her alt mode gas tank, and has a very nice bright red Autobrand. The rest of Kit’s torso forms a slim “dress” from her altmode’s shell. Notably and rather unusual, Kit sports a tail. This tail is akin to a terrestrial Monkey’s in its prehensility. Nominally, it’s as long as her legs, but can extend to double that length. It acts as balance organ and tool, and it is equipped with a plasma torch at the tip.
Kit’s round thighs are unremarkable and protoform light grey. Her knees, calves and feet are mostly formed from her altmode’s front wheels. Kit’s feet like her hands, but less capable, transform to provide grip or traction on whatever surface she is walking or climbing.
Kit’s alt mode is a Lazareth Quadrazuma – a four wheeled street bike.
History: Kit first came online, approximately two thirds of the way into the Caste Era. She was batch built to specification for the sole purpose of repairing and maintaining the antennas and other similar civic aerial structures in the city of Vos. Her small grounder type form was considered cheaper and more energy efficient than those of the flyers, who mostly had far better things to do than civic repairs. As is the case sometimes, coding flaws are not identified until after a bot has been commissioned. This was the case with Kit. While the vast majority of her batch mates were coded to enjoy their work, a form or positive reinforcement, Kit simply felt a great deal of guilt for not doing her share.
So Kit, for her place in society, worked to not feel bad, but she never worked to feel good. This led her into finding other ways to feel good. What started as high grade energon binges went to abuse and quickly devolved from there. For a time, Kit’s processor was heavily slagged from the various narcotics she subjected it to while looking for fun. Of course, getting high wasn’t the only thing she did to herself, but further details are better left unrecorded. Mostly out of a sense of duty, one of Kit’s batch mates, and the closest thing to a true friend Kit had, dragged her out of the mess she was in. Quite simply, work needed to get done and Kit wasn’t pulling her weight.
It was this time that Kit was introduced into a particular strand of Parkour. The sport itself was something of a novelty, when many could fly and go wherever they wanted with absolute freedom. Because of Kit’s model type, she was well suited, and to her chagrin, she both excelled and thoroughly enjoyed the physical sport. As her spirits lifted, so did her work. To be fair, Kit would never do as well as her batch mates in her job. She would always lack the positive reinforcement of satisfaction they had. But she worked hard and looked forward to finishing an assignment, so she could run rampant once more.
Vos, the city state and many of its inhabitant frowned upon the antics of those who engaged in Parkour. With Kit doing more parkour than most, she got into more trouble. Nothing truly serious as her type never damaged property – causing damage went against her spark – but enough trouble that Kit became wary of high casters and fliers. Kit did try her servos at other physical sports, dancing, acrobatics, martial arts, but she never stayed for long. None had the appeal of just tumbling trough Vos like an overclocked turbo fox. War shook all of that apart.
It was a slow build up buildup but a dramatic finale that made Kit become an Autobot, where otherwise she would have been neutral. Vos was a lot less friendly when Starscream was given control in Kit’s optics. But when it was destroyed, that meant more to Kit than everything else, a lot more than she thought she had. On that day, where she should have been on duty, she was messing about once more, ignoring the guilt she felt. But that meant Kit’s batch mates, her crew, her friends were working atop one tower. When the missiles hit home, her crew had no chance at all. Kit survived because she was on the ground and able to find shelter. She felt guilt for not being at her duty, for not dying with her friends and surviving instead in their place.
Kit hated herself, but she hated Megatron a whole lot more. He and his rebellion had started the war, thus he had killed her friends and destroyed the only place she called home. Kit signed up with the Autobots shortly thereafter, got the Autobrand stamped broadly on her chest, and did what little she could to support their just cause.
Personality: When examining the personality of Kit, it is important to note a couple of things. Firstly, her base coding is slightly abnormal, maybe about 5%, secondly her substance abuse has corrupted her processor by an additional 5%. Lastly, Kit acts about 20% to 30% crazy, out of sheer boredom, or a desire to confuse her enemies. Thus at any given time, Kit appears to be a quarter crazy.
Kit gets bored easily, in part due to flawed coding since her sparking. She finds little satisfaction in any cerebral activity and any other activity that might be counted as a chore. To this end, Kit often seeks out new experiences and thus she loves Earth. She does have a compulsion to fix and maintain anything that needs it. This is because she feels guilty if something is not in good condition. Similarly, she can’t deliberately break stuff, and if she accidentally breaks something she cant fix good-as-new, she will be the saddest sad bot. The exception to the rule is when it comes to breaking Decepticons. Kits also suffers from a wide streak of apathy, if something does not directly affect her, she unlikely to care much about it.
On the good side, Kit is steadfastly loyal, generous and easy going. There’s not much room in her spark for hate, and all of it she reserves for Megatron and his followers. She rarely has a bad word for any ‘Bot despite her usual profanity. She is forthright, outspoken, and honest.
Kit is extremely protective of her hands, surface wear and tear notwithstanding. Do not threaten her hands or you will face her full wrath.
Likes: Parkour, anime, cartoons in general, instrumental techno music, Garbage O’s, Chocolate covered oil drums.
Dislikes: Megatron, Cons, hard work, mercury sauce, country music, the News, rust, destruction.
Strengths/Weapons: Kit’s primary strength lies within her base design. Her triple optics has extremely good depth perception and can see ultraviolet light with high powered magnification ability. Her black face plate hides an infrared sensor for energy tracking in small circuitry. Kits “ears” are designed for acoustic fracture detection, which they do well.
Kit’s hands can form power saws, grinders and buffers, and any number of non-powered tools, like screw drivers, spanners and their ilk. Kit uses the power saws as her melee weapon. They can also form suction cups and magnetic clamps for climbing anywhere. Her hands are extremely complex, high quality and extra heavy duty. They are very tough. Kits feet, while much simpler than her hands can change toe configuration for any terrain, and also form suction cups and magnetic clamps.
Kit’s tail mounted plasma torch burns hot enough to cut through most materials quickly, but only within touching range. It can also support twice Kit’s strength in tension. Like wise, Kit’s frame is strong enough to lift her own weight overhead. Kit is extremely agile, through design, talent and skill.
What Kit’s alt mode lack in toughness and top speed, is countered by her blistering acceleration and agility.
Weaknesses: Kit is about as well armoured as a paper bag. She is built heavy duty for work but she is not designed for combat. Kit has no ranged weapons at all. Her desire to not break anything can be a hindrance on a battle field – she will never be a saboteur despite her physical aptitude.
Kit’s very usefulness depends upon the condition of her hands. One broken hand can impede her functionality almost completely. If one was to deliberately break her hands, under torture perhaps, she would go absolutely ballistic.
Special skills: She has mastered the sport of Parkour and is quick to take this skill into melee. While she has very little melee training, her natural crazy bent makes her unpredictable, and she fights like a cornered rat. That being said, she always goes for the optics and joints with every strike. She does not fight fair, ever.
It doesn’t need to be reiterated but Kit is very effective at repair and maintenance. She is very far from being an engineer, but she can assemble equipment depending on the quality of the instructions.
Extra Info: Kit will upgrade her base colour scheme if and when she can decide on something.
Sample RP: Kit casually hung by her tail from a rafter. In her hands was a partially disassembled actuator for one of the missile silo’s roof hatches. Her feet, in the form of magnetic clamps, held the remaining pieces. One at a time, she took a piece and rebuilt the actuator, her hand changing from one tool to another each time. When her feet were empty of parts and the actuator complete once more, she swung her feet back up to grab a rafter. Tail free this time, she sparked up the plasma torch at its tip, and welded the two broken halves of the actuator’s housing together. Briefly examining her work up close to her face, she formed one hand into a grinder and cleaned up the weld line.
Satisfied the repair was complete, Kit climbed atop the rafter with the ease of a monkey. A few moments more and the actuator was reinstalled in the bracket connecting to the roof panel. She called out to a helpful bot below.
“Re-connect the fuse to this slagging piece of scrap”. Despite the profanity, her tone was friendly.
Kit looked closely with her infrared sensor and watched the electrical energy flow. She was satisfied to note that there was no undesired resistance.
“Oh Kay, open the lid on this hole!”
There was a screech of rusted metal on metal, and Kit shivered in despair at yet more work.
