Name: Rotary {Rota for Short}
Age: Late twenties
Gender: Femme
Species: Mecha
Faction: Autobots
Original Occupation: Dancer/Entertainer
Occupation/Specialization: Counselor
Appearance/Altmode: Overall Rota is a delicate looking femme as she was built more for flexibility and grace than knocking other mecha across the room. She lacks a great deal of armor, with light green plating that runs smoothly over her frame in a sleek fashion. She has lacy rose gold engravings along her shoulders and where her collar bone would be, the tops of her hands also have similar engravings also in rose gold. Her helm is rounded, with slight wavy ridges towards her off white face. Her optics are bright gray-blue, and are a round oval shape.
Height wise, she is about a head taller than Bumblebee, though when she stands on her tip-toes she is closer to Ratcher's height (the green line). One pair of tires are situated between her shoulders and arms, where a shoulder bone would be, and mostly hidden within her frame – her Autobot brand rests comfortably between them. The other pair rests on the outside of her thighs, and while the side is in full view, they are mostly flush within the plating there.
As far as her integrated sensors and knives go, they're barely noticeable when simply looking at her. The EMF sensors are a series of small circular sensors that start at her temples, and dot their way down towards her mouth – there are six of them in total. Her knives, and the electrical strips attached to them, are also mostly noticeable as they look similar to long chrome engravings. However, if one looks close enough, there are small little 'finger holes' where Rota can reach and pull them out of her frame.
Her alt-form is a 1956 Ford Thunderbird that is light green with a white hard top.
History: To start things off, Rota was not sparked into existence as a full-frame, but a sparkling. Her cohort had not been the wealthiest, but after many years of saving – they had enough to have Rota commissioned (of course after receiving the authorization first). They were proud in having a 'child' that was not full-framed built, and there were times she was shown off like some prize to be had. Overall though, they were proud that she was a polite and refined femme that shown an inclination to the arts – which was just perfect for them, even if they wished she was a painter and not a dancer.
Dance, was something she had been drawn to from the beginning. After she was merged with her intermediate frame, a mech from the dance academy suggested she had EMF sensors implanted into the sides of her head. He explained that the sensors helped judge the audience, so that a dancer could give their best performance. At first, Rota was not going to go through with the surgery – until other dancers chimed in that the sensors were perfect for those in the performing arts. The surgery, was something that scared the young femme, but it was thankfully not a long surgery and she was in skilled hands. Shortly after, one of the older femmes took her under her wing in order to start grooming her properly as a dancer.
Rota was very much a 'natural' at controlling her body and movements, and she was gaining notice with how hard she practiced and the results that shown because of the hard work. She was excelling with her lessons and as time went on, she rose through the ranks of the dance company she had joined.
This brought delight to her cohort, they often gave themselves pats on the backs for how the sparkling had turned out. They weren't so delighted, by one of the mechs that had been full-framed before Rota had been commissioned. He was naturally science minded and while they cared for him as he was one of their own, they worried he was going to get hurt for trying to meddle in a career he was not part of. He was eventually caught by the authorities.
The young femme seen exactly what could have happened if she had not wanted to be a dancer (or really anything related to the arts). The older mech was reprogrammed to become a painter, like many of the older members of their cohort. Rota was horrified to see the changes, he had once fixed her dancing toys and improved them, only for him to barely know what a wrench was. It frightened her, like it would frighten any other young mecha.
It was shortly after this that she started noticing how poorly treated the lower-castes were, even by some members of her cohort (who before had come off as the most loving and caring of mecha). It was something that Rota wished she hadn't realized, and she thrown herself into practice in a feeble attempt to simply forget it. She would have continued with this rigorous practice, and and miss out what life had to offer, if it weren't for literally running into a mech as she made her way home after a particularly grueling day at the dance company.
He helped her off the ground, and Rota was surprised to find the dockworker to be gentlemechly and rather kind. She hadn't thought of such a thing possible, but Cipher simply proved her wrong, just like she proved him wrong that not every Towerling was a world class snob who only cared for themselves. The two became friends, and it wasn't long after that they fell in love. Both of them took risks in order to seek each other out without drawing too much attention from law enforcement.
When talks of obliterating the caste system reached their audios, Rota was the first of the two to become as active as she could in the peaceful protests. She would get the lesser punishment if caught, and she made sure to be as vocal as possible about the poor treatment of those supposedly 'beneath' her. After all, she had a choice (at least somewhat of one) in how she turned out and she felt that others deserved the same. She also felt that just because someone was born into one thing, they HAD to stay there. Her stance was personal, after all she could never forget how blank the one mech had been after receiving reprogramming. There was also the fact she loved someone from a lower-caste, and how things currently were? Meant that she and the dockworker could never actually be together like they wanted.
With so many peaceful protests happening, many which Rota took part in, the last thing the femme expected to happen – was for things to turn so violent.
Fighting, was something that she was personally appalled by. Cipher was more willing to fight, though he was more capable of doing so. While he was quick to join the Autobot cause, Rota remained neutral. The femme continued to dance, providing entertainment for those who still sought it, and she did what she could to keep the idea that war was on the horizon off of her mind.
As if the violence wasn't enough, the attack on the towers truly turned her world upside down and to the right. That night had turned out normal enough, with performance practices, and she was winding down after the long day in order to recharge. It was a horrible wake up call when the building started shaking and smoke filled the air. She was in shock to what was happening, but she quickly left her apartment – knocking on neighbors doors as she went to try and get others out of there. She just barely made it out of there, when the building collapsed – killing countless of others.
The femme was distraught, and she was at a lost for what to do. She was not a fighter, and she wasn't exactly skilled in anything else besides dance. Rota found some joy, by going to the various camps of displaced neutrals to dance for them. It kept her busy, and kept her mind off of the war that was currently happening all around her.
It was after one of her dances at a camp, that she ran into a femme that was oddly familiar. Cogni was a scientist, and one that the reprogrammed mech had admired before he was shoved into a occupation he hadn't wanted to be in. Rota started talking to her, about how she felt so useless as she was just a dancer. The two became friends, and the older femme started to teach her how to use those sensors for more than merely judging an audiences reaction.
Cogni was patient with Rota, despite the rough patches to rework her way of thinking. The dancer turned counselor was quick to prove herself as a fast learner. At first, her counseling services were more akin to two friends simply talking over a long defragment, but many found it better than nothing and with time Rota improved her abilities.
It wasn't much longer after, that Cipher made a suggestion to her, that she stopped being a neutral and actually joined the Autobots. There were plenty who needed someone to talk to, but wouldn't trust a neutral to do so. Rota agreed, and she quickly gained the trust of others for her conduct as a counselor. She listened, and didn't push more than what was necessary.
As she continued to consoled those who needed it, she was soon finding her skills lacking compared to those like Cipher, who could actually fight. This realization that she was such a weakness, was highlighted when she was traveling to an Autobot camp, and the group was attached by Decepticons. Rota used her knives that she had embedded in her frame and while she put up a good fight, she only downed one other femme who was far smaller than her compared to the larger 'Cons that the others had fought off. It was this event that pushed her to train with her knives, to aim for where they could hit the hardest. It also was during this time she started looking into weapons she could use, and she found one that she was drawn to. It wasn't a traditional gun, but it was something that gave her a little more distance than simply throwing knives.
Wielding a meteor hammer also meant she wasn't a sitting duck.
By the time the war got to the point of evacuations, Rota had moved further away from her 'simpler' dancer roots and she was more of a fighter. She also was vocal in staying behind, giving up her place time and time again on one of those evacuation ships, as she wanted to see others off the dying Cybertron first.
During one of the last evacuations, her group is attacked. She fought as hard as she could alongside Cipher, but they were being overwhelmed while they fought and covered other mecha. The moments that came after retrieving a knife, are blurry memories. There was a ship, prepped for takeoff, and she was closer to it than anyone else was. Cipher was able to get close, but instead of simply getting into the ship after Rota was shoved into it – he closed the door as soon as his hand hit the launch button.
The launch, couldn't be stopped despite Rota's yelling at the wretched computer to disregard launch protocal. To make things worse? She was stuck watching as Cipher was ganged up by Decepticons, and while she didn't see him die? The former dancer felt that was what happened to the mech as she was sent into space.
For a long time after leaving Cybertron, Rota was alone. She drifted around space for a good amount of time, stopping at various ports – though she had to pose as an awkward native in order to leave her ship. Pretending to be someone she wasn't, was not something she found particular pride in. But, it was what she did in order to get supplies so she could survive. Her last stint in space, was the longest one. She was starting to give up on hope that she would find other Autobots, or anyone from Cybertron for that matter, when she heard a ping to come to Earth by the Prime.
At first, the femme was scared to go – wondering if it was some trap, but at this point in time? She was simply tired of being alone. So she set her sights on Earth, and getting that beat up ship there before she starved to death.
Personality: In general, Rota is polite and tends to hold herself in a lady like manner. She doesn't cuss, she doesn't behave rudely towards others, and she generally tries to treat others with respect. This mindset, was mostly due to how she was raised by her cohort, but overall it is just how she is. Her pleasant personality was also one that was ingrained into her because of her profession as a dancer. While she had her moments of cockiness, they were few and far in between and more attributed to her youth at the time. The behavior was corrected with reminders of how one should act, and it simply didn't continue.
Though, for as nice, polite, and respectful as she is – Rota does have a rebellious streak fueled by her innate curiosity. After the reprogramming of an older 'brother', she found herself questioning how things were. She also found herself staying silent with her questions until she met Cipher. She felt free to talk to him, and he encouraged her more vocal nature to grow. That rebelliousness was formed into asking the questions that formed in her head, that she had once disregarded as something ridiculous. In turn, she became more and more vocal about her displeasure of the treatment of those of lower-caste.
Despite the rebelliousness she had, she never once stopped loving her cohort – even the snobbier ones that would still turn away in disgust at lower classed mecha. Rota is a femme who loves her cohort and friends with her whole spark, a trait that has grown more so since she lost most of them due to either the tower destruction's or the war. She typically clings to those she see's as family in an almost desperate manner at times now, not wishing to lose even more than she has. It is also because of this, she has started to have an even deeper dislike of violence, even going as close as calling it full blown hatred.
The femme has a strong fear of becoming completely and utterly alone for the rest of her life, so the idea of losing someone she is friends with due to an act that could have been prevented? Well, Rota just doesn't like thinking about it and in general long bouts of not only being alone but with no noises of life around her is unsettling to the counselor. Typically, she is soothed by even the most muted of fields around her, and she wishes she didn't have to be so hindered by this fear.
What she see's as a silly fear, is one reason why she likes being a counselor. Helping her fellow mecha with their problems of dealing with war for so long, helps her forget her (in her opinion) silly little fears. Also simply talking to others helps reminds her that she isn't alone, and that she has someone to talk to and to help in what little way she can.
Likes: The arts – though primarily music and dance, she also has a soft spot for old earth movies. Noise, be it white noise or the sounds of other mecha. Being both around and working with others. Controlled chaos.
Dislikes: Complete silence, being alone, war, fighting, and smaller spaces (IE no sitting around hours upon hours in her alt-form in a garage, that small space starts getting to her).
Strengths/Weapons: EMF Sensors: While not exactly a weapon per-say, they can be used to help her get a general idea on her appointments emotional state. Someone who's reading as panicking, gives her an upper hand while she is far more cautious of someone who is as 'cool as a cucumber'. These sensors are also useful when she is fighting for the same reasons, as those who have erratic fields tend to make poor decisions.
Electrical Defensive Sensors: These sensors, are long strips that dot her upper/lower arms and upper/lower legs. In total there are eight of them, and were designed to give someone a nasty little shock if they were to grab a hold of her. They had been built into her frame around the same time as her EMF sensors, though these particular sensors have more practical use as a towerling working around lower caste members.
Meteor Hammer: The chain is long, roughly 75 feet, and at the end of the chain is a large metal ball that weighs 24 pounds. While this might not seem very heavy, once momentum is built up? It becomes a formidable weapon. On top of it, the length of the chain provides her with plenty of distance between herself and her oponent. Her speed and flexibility also help when using this particular weapon, as it takes a certain grace to use.
Speed: Being without the bulk of heavy armor, Rota is a fast moving femme though not as fast as say a two-wheeler or some fliers.
Flexibility: Built for grace and dance, her plates are smoother and slide underneath each other with relative ease. Her joints are also completely uncovered in order to provided ample movement.
Weaknesses: Electrical Defense Sensors: Those knives have only enough charge in them to have two good jolts towards the opponent, in turn it takes several hours for them to be recharged .
Meteor Hammer: While this is one of her more preferred weapons to use, this unfortunately has several weaknesses. For instances, a stronger mecha can catch and grab a hold of the ball and/or chain when Rota is in the 'wind up' stages of getting the momentum going in order to attack. When they do such a thing, they can pull the weapon away or even keep her from pulling it back towards herself. It is also difficult for her to fight against more than two other mecha's, as while she can attack multiple targets – she can simply be overwhelmed.
Another weakness to her meteor hammer, is the fact that she really can not use it in tight enclosed spaces. It needs space to be unraveled and swung. Also, if Rota is not careful? She can be her own weakness if she doesn't carefully keep the chain from coiling around herself or tangling it up so she can't swing it far enough.
Delicate: While her speed and flexibility are great uses to her, that lack of armor is a great weakness of hers. Not only can she not take a hit from a stronger mecha, but her exposed joints that provide a large amount of mobility are targets that can be taken advantage of. She is also simply weaker and does not have the strength mecha from other walks of life might have.
Special skills: Song and Dance: By far one of her more obvious talents as Rota had made a name for herself as a dancer. Before the war, she had been considered one of the more seasoned dancers at the studio she belonged to and she was popular among certain circles. While she wasn't as great a singer as she was a dancer, she certainly can carry a tune and has sung during a performance or two before.
Counseling: While this was a skill she had no real use for pre-war, Rota has always been someone other mecha found easy to talk to. Post-war, she learned from another femme on how to actually console others to help them work through mental setbacks. At first, she relied heavily on the sensors that are implanted to the sides of her helm but after so many years of counseling others, she doesn't rely on them as much as she once did.
EMF Sensors: While more of a tool than a skill, what she uses them for certainly does require some skill. At first they were merely to judge herself as a performer by reading the audience, now they're used hand in hand while she had sessions with other mecha. They were mildly improved upon in order to better read them, and she has learned to use them to read if something else is wrong outside of the 'typical' mental trauma so many years of war brings upon a mind. She has learned to look for signatures of if someone had been hacked into, or if there is a bug planted into them. Those sensors when used also lets her see if there is a malfunctioning mental program though she is no surgeon. She can not fix the problems she finds herself, and she defers to a far more trained mecha.

They can be thrown and embedded into another mecha, when fully charged they can provide a stronger shock than merely grabbing a hold of her arm or leg. There is also a small magnetic 'handle' on each of them that allow her to retrieve them without getting too close to the mecha she had just injured.
- Most often this is done overnight when she herself is recharging. Also, the magnetic handles have a short distance that they can be retrieved at being roughly thirty feet so Rota unfortunately has to get closer than she'd like to her opponent.
