Name: Bumblebee
Age Equivalent: Young adult. Human equiv. would be late teens.
Gender Equivalent: Male/Mech
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Original Occupation: Message Courier
Occupation/Specialization: Scout/Tracker
Appearance/Altmode:
Physical Build: Coming up to about Optimus' waist, Bumblebee is a smaller Autobot. He has bright yellow armor plating with black under-mesh. His chest plate is well armored, protecting his Spark chamber well - although his joints are somewhat lacking in any real defense. His alt-forms doors are on his back, similar to the wings of an insect. He has a lack of any notable facial features, save for his optics which are unique and expressive. His small frame and light armor mean he's quick on his feet and stealthy, perfect for the role of a Scout.
Eyes: Bumblebee's optics are nothing short of unique. Brilliant blue enhanced optic sensors that work almost like camera lenses, meaning he can see far distances and in lower light environments. Due to his inability to speak to humans, he has learned to show emotion and a lot of expression through the use of his optics alone.
Voice: Bumblebee lost his voice capacitor at Tiger Pax, and cannot speak like a regular bot. Bumblebee speaks basic, which can still be understood by most Cybertronians. To humanoids (With the exception of Raf) Bumblebee's voice sounds like a myriad of beeps, whirs, and trills, varying in pitch and tone, depending on his mood.
Altmode: Bumblebee chooses a yellow and black 2014 Camaro as his alternate mode. Link
History:
Bumblebee was sparked sometime during the Great War. He was one of the last Cybertronians to be given life. Sparked for the purpose of being a scout, with unique optics and a small light armored frame.
During the siege, the young and ever-so-eager-to-help Bumblebee volunteered to be a message courier after communications became unreliable in the war.
One of his first missions was simple enough, deliver a message to Optimus. Bumblebee had valuable, strategic information on where Autobot soldiers would be located in the coming days, and getting it to Optimus had become a top priority.
Bumblebee's size and speed meant he was good at his job - although not too good, it seemed. While searching for Optimus to relay the message, he was caught by a pair of Decepticon soldiers.
Sensing that the information the young scout held was important, due to the fact he would not turn it over - the Decepticons who caught Bee took him to none other than Megatron himself at Tiger Pax. What better way to lure the Autobots into a trap or ambush them if he had the very plans with their upcoming positions?
Still, Bumblebee refused to turn over the information. Enduring days of brutal torture at the hands of Megatron, seeing the young scout lose not only his voice capacitor but have both arms mercilessly torn off. Megatron left the young scout for dead. Which would have been Bee's fate if it weren't for sheer luck.
Optimus and Ratchet stumbled upon the fallen scout after reports had gotten to them of Megatron capturing one of their own. Bee's spark was almost out, and he was close to giving up - but luckily for Bumblebee, Optimus' comrade was a medic. A good one at that. Ratchet worked tirelessly to save Bumblebee, managing to reattach his arms and bring him back from the brink of losing his spark.
Sadly, though, however, Bumblebee's voice capacitor was far too damaged to be salvaged.
Impressed by Bumblebee's courage, Optimus allowed the young scout to tag along with him and Ratchet in their efforts against the Decepticons. They went back to the Autobots command center where they managed to reactivate the guns in the defense control room.
It wasn't long before their next mission came in - try and re-establish the communications, which were still downed, as well as free Autobots which had been captured by the Decepticons and taken to the Kaon Prison Complex in Decagon. Bee, using his small size to his advantage, volunteered to go alone. This way Optimus could focus on other important parts of the ongoing war.
Once he had made his way to Decagon, Bee was confronted by Starscream, and after a slight altercation? Bumblebee got the upper hand and managed to smack some information from the Commander as to the location of the prison, and what he'd need to do to free the prisoners once inside - including the location of the control panel that would disable the cells.
The only way to get into the Prison Complex was... Well, getting put in jail. Outside Kaon, Bumblebee drew attention to himself and was very much captured and taken to the prison inside the city. Here, he was ordered to be taken to recycling. Which to Bumblebee, didn't sound so terrible.. Until worked out exactly what it was that was going to be recycled. Him.
Horror growing, and starting to think this plan of his was terrible, Bumblebee made his way through the prison system. The time had come for Bee to be 'recycled' and he was near panic levels as he was placed against the against the firing wall. His plan had failed, and he had failed. Things looked bleak... Until he was saved. Bumblebee wasn't sure who this hero was, or why he had saved him - only that whoever it was? Killed the Heavy Soldiers about to execute him, and was taking the full brunt of the Decepticon's wrath. Bumblebee had no time to stand and watch, however, and he escaped - leaving the flier to be captured and dragged away.
Bee descended further into the prison to continue his mission. Eventually, he made his way to the room where Starscream had told him the command panel was located.
Starscream had lied to Bumblebee, the command panel was not here. It was nothing more than a trap. An ambush. One that'd been designed to lure Optimus. It'd failed, Optimus was not here - instead he was elsewhere, handling other fronts in the ongoing war.
Bumblebee fought off several Decepticon ambushers with ease. He had to move fast before more attention was drawn to himself, and so Bumblebee continued his way through the prison - meeting up along the way with the flier, who had saved him only hours earlier. His knowledge of the prison, and willingness to help the Autobots, meant he was easily able to lead Bumblebee to the correct location of the control panel which opened the hard locks of the prison.
The flier, known as Air Raid, assisted Bumblebee in getting the prisoners out of the jail and to Iacon. Bumblebee followed, and was shortly joined by Optimus Prime who announced 'Project Generation One'. The planet could not be saved, the Dark Energon buildup meant that Cybertron couldn't hope to sustain a fraction of the life it currently supported. They had to evacuate.
With a heavy heart, Bee abandoned their planet. Boarding the Ark with Optimus and whatever Autobots they could gather, including many of those Bee had freed from the prison, and making their way to the planet known as Earth. Here they were to set up a base, start over. A new foundation. Escape pods were launched and few made it to Earth, Bumblebee was one of the lucky ones who did, and he quickly rejoined Optimus.
Things were calm for three years before the Decepticons finally followed the Autobots to Earth. Bumblebee was out patrolling when he received an urgent call from Optimus to return to the base, one of their own needed backup. Sadly, they were too late - Cliffjumper had been taken by the Decepticons and killed. It was a heavy blow to the Autobots, who already had such dwindling numbers on Earth.
This reignited the war between the two factions, only there was more at stake now - Humans.
Personality: Childish, Courageous, Determined, Eager, Enthusiastic, Fearless, Impatient, Impulsive, Irresponsible, Loyal, Showoff, Stubborn, Worrier.
Bumblebee is a young and eager Autobot. Determined to prove himself to his team and to the Prime, and also to himself. He often goes above and beyond what is asked of him.
He is supremely confident in himself and has somewhat of a youthful arrogance about him. He knows he's good at what he does, and he has no problems showing off to everyone just to remind them of this fact! He's competitive and loves to race and make silly bets - all in the name of fun!
Bee is serious when needed, like when on a mission. Although he does enjoy play, and has been known to watch Earth cartoons and sometimes would rather goof off. He collects what others would consider 'junk', and loves to try and paint.
The fact he is young means that he is impressionable, and can often be irresponsible with some of his actions - acting before thinking. He tends to over-worry and stress about things, but his stubborn personality means that he won't actually tell people why he is worrying - or what over!
Likes: Earth, Humans, Cowboys & Westerns, The Ocean, Helping Others, Cartoons & Video Games, Collecting Things, Lava Lamps, Optimus Prime.
Dislikes: Feeling Useless, Megatron, Rock Music, Loud Noises, Being Bored, Standing Still, Snow, Medical Bays.
Strengths/Weapons:
Sting like a Bee: Mounted with two Energon blasters in his arms, these weapons may be small but Bee knows how to use them. They serve him well, although he does carry an energy shield as well as a plasma gun should the situation call for it.
Ya wanna go? Lets go!: While not a professional, Bumblebee is a capable hand-to-hand fighter. The style he uses is very similar to 'boxing', and his smaller size means he is fast on his feet, able to deliver quick, powerful jabs – often to the right places!
I'm faster than you: Bumblebee's small size and the fact he's built for speed means he can out-maneuver most others, running circles around larger bots with ease.
I can see you: Bumblebee's optics are nothing short of unique. With a wide field of vision and a high scoping ability, his sight is better than most; making him the perfect scout.
Weaknesses:
I can't see ya after all: While Bumblebee's optics are a strength, the inability to blink or fully close his eyes means he cannot shutter particles out like bots that can, meaning that in some environments and situations they would hinder his vision. He struggles in arctic environments. His inability to blink means he is prone to snowblindness.
This? It's nothing. I'm fine!: Bumblebee hates feeling useless, always wanting to help and to better himself. He's stubborn. Often playing off injuries that are a lot more serious than he'd let on. This stubbornness and impulsiveness mean he's likely to rush out into combat while not being 100% ready, putting himself at risk, which could cause more harm than good.
I don't understand you, Bee!: Without another Cybertronian nearby, or Raf to translate? Bee is unable to communicate with humans due to his damaged voice capacitor. If in a situation alone that required urgent communication, this could cause an issue as no human could understand him.
Watch the limbs!: Bumblebee relies on his speed to be a scout, both in alt-form and especially bot form - and an injury to his legs would be costly. His knees are exploitable, a lack of armor there means they are easily damaged if someone knew where to aim. His elbow joints also have a lack of armor, easily damaged also if they took the brunt of an attack.
Shake it off!: Having had both arms ripped off during the torture at Tiger Pax, and reattached by Ratchet - Bee gets the occasional numbness in his arms. Nothing severe, and nothing to really hinder him. Just the occasional 'my hand fell asleep' static-fuzz feeling, and is sometimes seen giving his arms a quick shake, especially after any heavy lifting.
The Frag did ya say to me?!: While Bumblebee -tries- to remain calm and professional, he has, without a doubt, a nasty short fuse of a temper if he feels his pride or abilities are challenged. This causes him to lash out without thinking, often putting himself and possibly others into dangerous situations.
Can never be too careful: Having been subjected to gruesome torture at Tiger Pax, and seeing what they did to his friend, Cliffjumper, the last thing Bumblebee wants is to get caught by the Decepticons for the second time, nor does he want /any one/ of his friends to be caught. This paranoia causes him to over-worry, and if given an opportunity, and his impulses don't overpower rational thought, it can make him overthink and stress even the simplest of situations. Being overcautious is not always a good thing!
Special skills:
I can do anything!: Bumblebee is courageous and eager, and when it's time to be serious and tackle a mission? Bumblebee is usually one of the first to volunteer. He's adaptable and a fast thinker, not to mention fast on his feet.
I'm with you till the end: Bumblebee is loyal to a tee. His actions at Tiger Pax are proof enough of this. His loyalty means he will do anything to help, and would go above and beyond what was required in helping fellow Autobots.
I can go further than you: Bumblebee's small size means that he does not tire quite as quickly, nor does he need as much rest between missions. Meaning he has less downtime.
I will find you: Not only is Bumblebee an excellent scout, he's an excellent tracker. His speed and enhanced optics help with this. He prefers forest environments, but also handles urban areas well. Able to spot things from a distance due to his optics, such as tracks and trails. He has a knack for spotting signs that others may overlook. He does not do well in Arctic, snowy environments – the inability to close his optics, and the snowblindness that follows, means that tracks and marks that would normally be apparent to Bee, blend into an even shade of white.

OOC Notes: Text that is dark yellow and italic with no marks are thoughts/internal monologs. Yellow text surrounded by -- are an indication that Bee is speaking basic (aka, a myriad of beeps). If your character is a human (With the exception of Raf) or a bot that cannot understand basic? I will do my best to have Bee emote accordingly so there is some hope of understanding what he's saying.
