As you can see there really was a real new website design being made, and now it has been implemented in full. There are a lot of new features this brings, as well as a few new things when it comes to the forum as a whole such as how Activity is going to be registered, and a few new rules slipped in that are needed since the site as a whole has grown and advanced since its beginning years. Without further filler, here is a list of new features and large changes.
As you can see, a lot has changed, and I tried my best to transfer everything over seamlessly. This said? There are bound to be issues. If you see a link not leading anywhere correct, or to the experimentation forums, or really any issue? List them here.
Help me help you make a better site by being as exact as possible in describing where the flaw is hiding. I will be upset if you say 'There is a typo in the Rules' and you will probably get a shiv lodged in your kidney.
Either way, I hope you enjoy the changes.
Be free my pretties! Go and frolic!
• Every initial post when you make a thread from now on, will have a tinny bubble you can click to indicate what episode the thread is a part of. You will NO LONGER need to include your episode in your thread titles, and may just click the appropriate button to automatically categorize it.
• Moderators now have NPC Profiles integrated into the site. NPCs will appear like normal users, and can even be clicked to lead to a false profile, but do not ACTUALLY have a character log-in or name. This permits them to play MECH from any mod account, or Random Event encounters without dedicated accounts. If site wide controlled NPC characters become needed, it can be extended to member use.
• We now have an informational page located at the top left that consolidates all of the useful links into one area. This organizes it all, so you no longer need to dive in the forums to find what you need, or play with the laggy left tabbed navigation that the mods had no way to update with new relevant links.
• Rules, Glossary, Timeline, and other immensely wordy resources that needn't be updated on a regular basis have been moved to custom pages with their own formatting to clean them up.
• There is now a Census that will be updated when new members join or old ones depart, giving applicants something to look over since 'How many ___?' tends to be an often seen question.
• There are now alternative site hosted avatars for users that do not have one to upload themselves, but want something relevant to their character's Faction. There is Autobot, Decepticon, a Neutral Insignia, and Earth.
• For users that prefer to color their character's speech, there is now a 'Favorite' option where you can save and delete favorite colors. This eliminates the need to memorize a hex code, or copy and paste from another document. ((My guilty Plugin pick. This is totally a 'me! I want this!' mod.))
• Administration forums are now invisible to normal users so you do not have your OOC section cluttered with it.
• Private Messages no longer have a white and grey background, and will not shock the eyes since the rest of the website is black.
• We have a Favicon!
• Height Chart and an Autobot Map are in the process of being finalized, and did not make the cut for this deadline, so disregard any links that do not lead to these sections.
