Character info
Name: Javelin
Age Equivalent: 25
Gender Equivalent: Female/Femme
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Original Occupation: Scouting for Energon
Occupation/Specialization: Scout/Reconnaissance
Appearance: About the height of Knock Out. Autobot badge on her right shoulder. Frame: An 8 on the chart. Dark blue primary color, purple secondaries. Fingers are somewhat tapered but not claws. Hands are a light blue. Forearms have light armor that angles down over the backs of her hands, tapering to a point. She's more sleek than bulky. Eyes are blue green. Shoulders have curved, upwards pointing metal, similar to shoulder pads with fine, purple trim on the edging. Helm is basic: rounded, a short crest running from forehead to the base of her neck, a lighter blue, convex "bumps" where ears would be on a human. Along the sides from the "temples" run a faint twisting appearance of the metal. This continues around both sides of her head, to join up in back and run down to the back of the neck. This gives a decorative braided look to her helm. Abdomen has a "grill-style" appearance; the top two slots can be opened to hold papers or datapads. Her front wheels jut from the backs of her shoulders, rear wheels are in her feet. Her peds are basic foot-style, toes coming to a point, although the light armor on her lower legs tends to cover the tops of her feet. No "heels". Vents are in her sides. During the war she was upgraded for silence and speed, employed as a scout. Her doorwings are small and short, tending to lie downwards rather than stick straight out, making it easier for her to move in forested areas. Dampeners are located inside her lower legs, unseen. She is not a heavy hitter, all her armor is light. Her role in battle is entirely support, tending to stay back and use her bow and arrows. Her alt mode is a 2017 Acura NSX.
History: Javelin was happily employed pre-war as a scout for energon. She would spend her spare time looking for artifacts in the ruins around Cybertron. It became a game for her, trying to get in and out without being seen, occasionally finding even booby traps. Upon being asked to deliver a message to someone in Kaon, Javelin met a manual class firefighter there by the name of Backdraft, and they struck up a powerful friendship. Over time, they grew closer, and she moved in with Backdraft, living in Kaon. Here she made many friends, and witnessed firsthand the injustices that occasionally occurred between the castes. Although neither a manual class, nor elite, but somewhere in the middle, Javelin sympathizes and identifies more with the lower classes than her own. She tends to dislike upper class individuals, though rarely will she say anything to their faces.
When the lower classes began to rebel, following the words of one known as Megatron, Javelin worried. She understood the manual class' anger, but things never went well when tempers flared.
Javelin loves to explore old ruins and fallen down buildings, searching for anything that looks old. A fascination with history, she raised extra money back on Cybertron by searching through old ruins for artifacts to sell. She also has a deep love for stories and personal tales, and will often encourage people to tell her of their past exploits or battles, and she records them, almost keeping a file she can draw on to tell others if entertainment is needed.
When war finally broke out, Javelin was content to remain neutral. She agreed with why the manual classes were revolting, but could not agree with their methods. However, Backdraft was pulled towards joining the Autobots and stopping the death and destruction. Fearing being left behind, she joined as well.
During one of the early battles against Megatron's forces, Backdraft and Javelin were terribly damaged. While on the table, waiting to be operated on, she watched as Backdraft died. His death shook her to the core, and for a while she was lost, mentally and emotionally. They had been together for such a long time, and she was bereft.
The way she dealt was to throw herself headlong into fighting against the Decepticons. Deciding she would fight Backdraft's fight for him, she remained with the Autobots, although she still did not agree with some things they did. She underwent training for scouting/reconnaissance, then under went rigorous training in fighting with ranged weapons, and some hand to hand combat in the event an enemy got too close.
The biggest concern to Javelin now is the guilt she carries within, believing strongly that if she had been more in tune with Backdraft's thoughts and ideas, he might still be alive. She should have talked him out of joining, but she wasn't strong enough to insist, and she lost someone she loved because of it.
Now she travels to where she is most needed. Although she hides her feelings of loss and failure well, she uses her skills to her best ability to finally end the war and find peace for everyone. She recently heard the call by Optimus Prime to come to Earth, and so set her sights there.
Personality: Javelin is outgoing, but hides her inner fears that she might get someone killed some day. She makes friends easily enough, but rarely lets them get too close, in fear she might lose another. She can be cheerful and outgoing, but hides a deep darkness. As a result, she usually ends up with a large group of light friends, but keeps her thoughts well hidden. She attempts to wear armor inside, as well as out. She loves a good joke, and worries about if she's doing enough. A lot of her personality is based on lighthearted teasing and joking with her co-soldiers. She's loyal, and if you're her partner, even for one day, she'll make sure she keeps up her end. While she tries to keep people from getting too close, she cares about those she calls friend, and will try to help them any way she can.
Javelin can be a little moody at times, though this can be rare. Sometimes she just wants solitude, which can work well with her scouting, as it gives her time to deal with any darkness she's going through. If she does fall into her personal darkness, the path out can be difficult.
While Javelin is loyal to the Autobot faction and those who daily risk their lives going one on one, she sometimes feels lost. She didn't really want to join, and at times she feels she is living a lie. Being true to something is very important to her, and she questions if she deserves to be there. However, her love for her lost Backdraft keeps her fighting under the Autobot sigil. She tries to be fair to everyone, and knows her fast-paced personality can grate on people's nerves. While she's quick to cheer on soldiers who fight, she herself will keep her distance while fighting, knowing she would be a liability to her team in close quarters. In battle, she knows her limitations.
Likes: Music. Any and all. Speed. Anything that goes fast. Explosions. Using her bow.
Dislikes: People who won't even give new things a try. How can you know you hate it if you haven't tried it yet!? Decepticons. Elitest snobs. Cops with no heart.
Strengths/Weapons: As reconnaissance, Javelin is not a heavy hitter. Built for speed, she prefers to keep at a distance and shoot with her bow and arrows. Not well armored. If she knows she has to fight to take someone out, she will come in and hit as hard as possible, as quick as possible, and then get out. Sniping runs are more her thing, preferring to not even be seen if at all possible. She's quick to back up melee fighters with her bow and arrow, knowing close quarters would just make her a liability in battle. a few hits from a heavy hitter and she's out for the count. Javelin's recurved energy bow is always near to hand. It packs the same punch as a standard pistol. Holding it with one hand, when she brings her second hand to the grip, both the string and arrow form of energy. Upon releasing the arrow, the string vanishes again. Her bow can fire the same number of arrows as a pistol before starting to power down. She does have one larger attack, that releases a very heavy arrow that can punch through a lot of armor, but doing so will empty her bow of all energy and she's weaponless, so she uses it only as a last resort. The bow can be used as a regular bow, using high tension wire and arrows created from scrap and her own set of tools and chemicals. Carried in an empty section beneath her left arm, she usually carries regular arrows, and a few fire arrows, acid arrows, and exploding arrows. The latter three are hard to make, however, and she doesn't use them willy nilly.
Javelin's bow has a silver rectangular piece of metal inset in the center of her bow. It is worn smooth and dull from years of rubbing or touching it. To most, it would be simply a decoration of sorts. Anyone with a background in medicine or who has seen a piece of a sparkchamber would recognise it with a small amount of observance.
Weaknesses: Javelin's slight armor, and her tendency to keep people at bay when going through a dark spell. Her entire system of reconnaissance depends on not being seen, and if she is, she has to hit hard and fast, otherwise, she's at an extreme disadvantage. Not a fighter, her best defense is speed , cunning, and craftiness. When she's deep into checking over patterns or working through a complex language, she can be completely unaware of her surroundings. As such, she either needs someone watching her back, or be somewhere safe. Javelin, in straight on combat, won't last long on her own.
Special Skills:
3. Being a scout, she's very good at noticing patterns in things, especially visually. She can look at a moving pattern and within a few minutes she can notice things out of place or an odd alteration. Doing this, however, takes all her skill, and she will be very unaware of her surroundings while doing so.
6. Javelin's background in toomb-crawling has given her the ability to scan an area for booby traps and the like. While she wouldn't find everything, her ability to see or sense a possible trap is heightened above the normal.
Sample RP:
Gravel crunching under her tires, Javelin rolled through the streets of the human city, keeping well below the speed limit. She was constantly casting outwards with her scanners, trying to find a hint of anything Autobot. But it was silent, and that worried her. Either her scanners had been damaged and she just couldn't -hear- them, or else they had gone radio-silent, and that was bad news too. It was probably the former....the Space Bridge she had paid for on that planet had actually deposited her on the edge of a cliff. Walking through only to drop about a hundred feet onto her back and shoulders hadn't tickled, and might have knocked something loose.
That was the last time she counted on a Neutral planet's help.
Javelin took stock of the vehicles around her. She had scanned the first one she had seen wanting to blend in quickly, and wondered if it was a good choice. The humans sometimes glanced her way, but didn't seem to be making a big deal out of it....and to be honest, she liked it. It was sleek, dark blue, and looked serious.
She turned on the radio inside, scanning that option for anything mentioning "aliens", "robotic life forms", or anything else that might indicate Cybertronians. But nothing. Just a sale on something called "sodapop".
Finding an area she could pull aside, she settled next to a row of other vehicles, and continued scanning.

Special Skills:
1. Javelin is an avid study on anything to do with symbols and languages. She will devour new languages the way others devour energon. She's a relatively quick study - give her a day or two, and she can give you a rough idea of what's being said or written in any language.
2. Harmonics - Javelin loves music, and can often hear differences in tone that others might not notice. Her hearing ability is heightened above the normal.
4. While not really a "skill", Javelin is fast on her peds. In vehicle mode her speed is average, but in her true mode, she's fleet-footed, living up to her name.
5. Languages - Javelin is able to hold conversation in many languages including Traharkian, Old Cybertronian, Chirolinguism, the basic language of Haligon Three and one made entirely of whistles and clicks. She can curse in many rare languages, and the more angrier she becomes, the more likely she is to start cursing in these languages.
