"It's a diffusion of atmospheric pressure and temperature, that combines with molecules of water in a gas-solid mixture to create the effect!" And Nightfall was off on a long, detailed explanation of just how that was possible and how and where, visor lighting up as he warmed to the topic. Weather study was in his core coding; he loved it nearly as much as he did his Cassette.
As as they continued, he even gestured to explain a point or two. "I have files on almost every kind of Earth weather event." He finished, finally; he paused only a moment before pinging her with his comm signal and a simple data packet- his three minute recording of a snow flurry he'd discovered on the humans' Internet. It was a little grainy, but he'd managed to make it relatively clear.
It turned out, weather was the exact best way to boost his mood, and consequently to try and undo the awkward moment he'd created twice. Like Javelin and ruins.
"If you aren't overly offended by my momentary... Issues... I can show you more some time." He added finally, slowing then stopping, turning to face her with his helm tilted slightly in curiosity.
They were almost to the Workshop now, having made it back to the main level.
Javelin listened as he went into great detail about the Earth weather systems, not really understanding some of what he was talking about, but it seemed to be lifting his spirits. Letting him chatter away as they walked, she nodded in what she hoped was the right places, not wanting to start another unpleasant gap. A part of her was starting to wonder if she had just lost her ability to fit in, having been on her own for too long. Too much time spent with distant biologicals had, perhaps, robbed her of any ability to really fit in with her own now. Once she had the ability to read people well, and wouldn't have blundered so brazenly into speaking so openly. Not everyone loved the past the way she did, she understood that. Both the far, far distant past...and her own personal past. It seemed she had forgotten the rule she lived by at one time; keep quiet, and don't talk of yourself. Keep yourself hidden, and focus on others.
She accepted the data packet he sent to her, with a promise of looking at it later. If it was important to him, she'd at least give it a glance later, even if she didn't exactly know what she was looking at.
When he stopped and looked at her, offering to show more, she did her best to plaster a smile to her face, "That would be good, thank you."
Javelin glanced around, finally recognizing the area they were back in, the main level.
Nightfall gave another tentative smile, this time inclining his head slightly as well, sensing the femme's reluctance, even as he tried again. "...I'll see you later then." he said finally. "...My comm is in that data packet, and I hope you like the vid- it's just a little clip."
One servo raised, pointing further down the hall. "Wheeljack's lab is down there- third door. I'll just... let you go, then." He would raise one pede slightly, ready to turn and leave if so asked. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Javelin." was added, at the last.
Even at the end, he was gracious, trying to recover the initial ease of their conversation. "I hope you'll like it here." And his tone was honest, offering her genuine hope Javelin would enjoy Earth.
Javelin nodded again, "I'll be sure to watch it, honest."
She glanced down the hall as he pointed, turning to see the entrance. Yes, just as Zoom-Zoom had said, there were in fact a few warning signs plastered around the outside. Well, at least she definitely knew she was in the right place.
She turned back, a little startled at his kinder words towards the end. She would remember her rule...but at least she hadn't made an enemy here. As long as she kept herself to herself, she might be ok.
Her smile was genuine, if a little faint, but it was a real one all the same, "Thank you, Nightfall. That's very kind of you. It was nice meeting you as well."
Giving him a gentle nod, she turned, and headed down towards the workshop. The arrows wouldn't make themselves, and she needed to see what she had to work with. Her peds echoed as she walked, arms lightly crossed before her. She stopped before the door of the workshop. Giving one glance upwards to the warning signs, she peered back. One last faint smile to Nightfall, and she opened the door, stepping inside to start working.
