Timeline: Week 1 | Day 3
Location: Jasper, Nevada. The place where fun goes to die.
Characters: Hot Rod | Jav | Xero | Open
Good old Jasper with it's cute little down charm and lack of civilization for miles. Citizens with routines that ran like clockwork- be it going to school, work, grocery store? They had everything laid out about as perfectly as their cookie-cutter homes with the straight driveways and meticulously manicured lawns. It was a perfect place to raise a family- peaceful, quiet, nothing going on and no trouble to get into. It was all for show on the surface, for beneath their very noses there was a war going on with an alien race forced into being in disguise.
A loud engine rev was the last thing they expected but that was exactly what they got.
"Wow, this place is a drag...!" Hot Rod sat at the traffic light and revved his engine again, which made everyone nearby look. A couple of older ladies who were going across the crosswalk looked his way and gave him the meanest scowls they could before continuing on their way. He could have given them one back or blared his horn to hurry them along but decided against it. That would probably be his good deed of the day. His holoform sat in the driver seat, window rolled down with his arm resting on the rim of it, strumming his open finger gloved hand on the surface. It leaned over and looked in the rear view mirror to check himself out, adjusted his headband, then settled back into the seat again just in time to see the light turn green.
"Finally!" The accompanied eye roll hinted to his disgust over the loss of that minute in his life. He turned left then continued his drive through town, starting to head towards the outskirts where there wasn't so much police presence. He'd learned early after his arrival to Earth that speed limits were something to take note of... though break them when possible. In turn with all the organics running around was not the place to do it so he'd just have to wait until he was free of the clustered buildings and crisscrossed intersection roads to put the pedal to the metal.
The biggest excitement to cross the town in the past two days was a police chase that lasted a couple blocks. Now the townsfolk were getting an eyeful! The sleek custom orange and yellow painted sports car with its vibrant flame on the hood and triple exhaust pipes along the sides was not something that was seen everyday. To these people they probably figured the vehicle was expensive- at least it looked expensive- but the eight digit price tag was most likely and amount that could only be dreamed up by those who inhabited this town.
Even though he was unimpressed, Hot Rod was still here with a purpose. This was where he had been led, where the coordinates told him to meet up with fellow Autobots. In the two days since he had arrived here he hadn't picked up on any signals so far so he didn't know if maybe it had just been a fluke- maybe a Decepticon trap? But there hadn't been any cons either. He was practically driving around with a target on his hood in the shape of a 7x10 inch Autobot insignia. If that didn't scream 'here I am' at this point...
Well, maybe this place was a dud.
"This place is a thing of nightmares. I wouldn't be surprised if life expediency here plummets just from sheer boredom..."
