"So what part wouldn't they believe? The part where you were having a decent conversation with the hottest Autobot to land on Earth, or the part where you saw a mech who glowed like some out of body apparition you'd see straight out of a human's movie about ghosts? Cause they'd probably say you were one can short of a six pack either way."
Hottest could have easily been describing his literal outrageous temperatures that stemmed directly from his Outlier ability, or that he really was the most attractive thing straight outta Cybertron. Since it was Hot Rod using the word, it was probably the former. It was a miracle that he didn't have 'Too Hot Ta Trot' playing as a background theme song during the statement like some cheesy movie.
"Thirteen miles? Forty minutes? Yeah, if you're pops and bein' mindful of the speed limits. Sheesh. Do I look like someone who bothers reading numbers?" Hot Rod looked at the spot she was indicating in her motion, catching sight of the flapping piece of tape that was trying to escape, then turned back to the road ahead of them. "If I take the turns slow, it'd would probably take me fifteen minutes. Twenty, tops. But I think I could get the lower time no problem."
Hot Road definitely wasn't short of confident in his own driving ability or his speed, that was for sure. After all, he wasn't built this way for show. Show was part of it, yes, but a VERY small part. Most of it was to keep him zipping through enemy territories without being caught since he was faster than those who he ran across, but if you asked Hot Rod his looks was definitely his key features. That's why it was best to just not ask.
"You're losing your tape there," he said, pointing down to her arm after she had finished showing off the road. Maybe she didn't notice or just hoped he hadn't, but the sound of it flapping had made it that it certainly wasn't going to be left alone. "I'd offer you a spare roll, but I think I left it in the pcoket of my other pants." He playfully patted his hips where one of his subspaces were, then grinned at Dart and motioned towards the road they'd come down with the thumb of his free servo. "If you want, we can hit up a convenience store and get you one. And with the time, I probably should be getting back to base anyway. If everyone starts waking up and notices that I'm not there, they'll hand my ass back to me."
Now that he'd seen this gem of a place and logged its location, he was sure to visit here later. For now the sun wasn't far from rising time, and as much of a rule breaker as he was, he didn't feel like dealing with the lip for the time being and the need to explain himself where he'd been all night. He headed back the direction they'd come, moving slow enough for her to keep up, and he'd be sure to offer her a hand when they got back to the fence so she wouldn't trip over it.
One day it'd get her.
