Splap.
Another wad of concrete was smeared into the hole. He might’ve overdone it a little bit - even though the hole was the size of his fist, the cardboard had held a lot of concrete, and maybe half the amount on this second application would’ve been sufficient for the task.
That second pile of cardboard was enough for the piece of cardboard that he’d been using, and he’d glance at Optimus, doing a quick double-take as he realized the Prime was offering out the slat of scrap metal.
Quickly setting down the now-mostly-ruined cardboard on the cardboard that’d been laid out earlier, he’d reach out to take the slat.
--Thanks!-- he chirped, shifting to take it with both servos so he had a better grip on it.
Looking to the hole in the wall, then to the metal in his servos, he’d give a quiet hum of thought. While at first glance it looked like the hole had enough concrete in it to be smoothed over and fixed up, it may not be the case. Part of him wanted to ask Optimus his opinion, but he’d already asked him so many silly little questions already.
Another moment of pause, he shifted his weight before seemingly making a decision and turned on a heel to move back over to the wall. It wouldn’t hurt the wall if he used the metal to smooth over the concrete, in fact it was probably preferable - the cardboard would possibly shred, and it’d already proved to be weaker than he thought, even despite with it being folded.
Carefully using the scrap metal, he would slide it across the concrete that was in and around the hole, attempting to make it look a little neater, smoothing it out to see if he needed to add extra concrete.
Huh.
It didn’t look half bad, all things considered! The color was slightly off but he assumed that as it dried, it’d lighten some to match the rest of the wall. The main thing was that the ugly hole had been covered up, if it was a slightly different gray it wasn’t like anyone would mind.
With it being filled though, that meant they had heaps of extra concrete in the barrel. Optimus seemed to realize this a moment before Bee did, and there was another gentle shifting of his weight.
--Seems like we did! Uhhh. While we have it, I guess- is there anywhere else that needs fixing? Did that hole in your ceiling ever get fixed?--
Could concrete even fix holes on ceilings? Or would it all fall out?
Speaking of fixing things, he realized that he still hadn’t found a way to breach the subject about their dwindling Energon supplies…
