Every shanix she saved went towards either training or upgrading her systems for greater speed, endurance, and efficiency. Her last job before the Great War broke out was as a waitress at Iomega’s, an oil house in the city-state of Kalis. Here she found an atmosphere that allowed her to thrive while earning enough to be competitive at an amateur racing level.
Racing was strenuous, even on good days, and wasn't something Suni could do as much as she wanted. With no desire to be social in her free time - work was social enough - Sundance picked up kick boxing as a hobby and juggled when she was otherwise bored enough.
Working at Iomega’s gave Sundance some small insight into most points of view that led to the breakout of the Civil War. In the end, she sided with the Autobots for one single reason, she lost friends in the bombings carried out in the name of the Decepticons. As a result, Sundance signed up almost immediately to join the Autobots. As a soldier, she willingly took on weapon augmentation and military training. She worked and trained hard; talent, luck and enthusiasm giving way to skill over the years.
In the time since, Sundance came to put her talents mostly in Aerial dog fighting, and interception. She was already well versed in close proximity maneuvers due to years racing, and her small size made her harder to hit. Her athletic energy efficiency and endurance also allowed her to harass Decepticon fliers in extended showdowns. Sundance also proved safely competent in ground based warfare. Though physically weaker than most Autobot soldiers, she had sufficient ability to be an asset rather than liability.
As she was deployed from one battlefront to another, Sundance met a lot of different Autobots and saw far too many come and go. That was how most of the war went, with Sundance not standing out much in the grand scheme. Days became months, years became millenia. It was the greatest endurance test she would ever face, and she thrived under the challenge.
With a lifespan verging on five million years, Sundance made a lot of friends along the way, some who are simply lost, and others who are lost forever. There was one particular friendship, one of the most recent and possibly the strongest in Sundance’s personal history that stands out. Some millenia ago, Sundance was assigned as additional firepower to an elite fighting unit that was earning praise for hammering holes in the Decepticon offensive.
Sundance got to know each member of the squad and forged a deep friendship with one of the fliers in particular, the strategist by the moniker of Gamma*. Sundance and Gamma clicked, they had enough in common to enjoy each other's company and enough difference to make it interesting. The duties of war would quickly separate them again but they managed to find each other several times in the millenia before everybody started getting out of Dodge.
When the main Autobot force left Cybertron in the exodus, Sundance was not among them. She was still occupied on the far side of Cybertron. Let Me Down Gently: Sundance’s para-scarf uses smart wires so that it never tangles and always deploys and recoils correctly. She can consciously deploy it at will in both modes or even jettison it. It will self deploy if she is unconscious using preset altimeter and accelerometers. The para-scarf is meant to only be a last option. It is fire and chemical resistant. The tensile strength of the silicon nanotube mesh will hold about four times Sundance’s weight, but can be cut with reasonable ease.
Weaknesses:
We All Fall Down: Sundance's armor is mostly on the lighter side of medium and is geared more towards surviving the physical impact of a crash rather than being shot with energon weapons. While in her root mode, her back is only lightly protected. The joints connecting her kibble to her hips are somewhat delicate. There is always a chance a good impact will break or dislodge a connector, making transformation impossible until repaired. Good thing she is a small target.
Strong as an Owl: Being small and feisty doesn't win too many battles on its own, despite how much Sundance tries. A can do attitude does not mean she can always succeed. Just a Fancy Piece of Cloth: Suni’s para-scarf is a fairly delicate piece of equipment. Any damage at all will render it almost useless until repairs are made. Repairs can be made by any skilled medic or Sundance herself with the right tools and equipment.
Shoulder the Burden: The energon lines feeding her blasters are additions to her original specifications and don't wind through the tight gaps of her shoulder components very well. Then you got the Pro level, top sixteen jockeys of each city-state flying it out for top spot. After that you got the Uber Elite. Top jockey from each state vying for god level recognition across the planet. The higher the level, the more money and status you can earn through sponsorship deals and betting if you happen to ascend that way.
So in a Ccel race, the aim of the game is to get further than anyone else, in one solar cycle on a fixed number of scoops of En. The course is a circuit around the city of your choice with a plethora of turns as you wind your way through checkpoints and around towers and under bridges and whatnot obstacles. The record for Kalis, my home state, is a redonkulos 521 laps. You got to tune for efficiency and speed, straight line and through the turns. And since nobody can pack all that distance in one chassis, you have to pit and recharge, and that there sucks up time too.
The best of the best? They drop gajillions on their chassis. Slicker than slick no friction paint, ion induction vortice control, ununtrium impeller blades, they even drop the radar to save weight and make my cheap frame look like a lead balloon. I blow every spare shanix I can earn as a waitress but I still have a long way to race before I can play with the top guns.”

The course is a circuit around the city of your choice with a plethora of turns as you wind your way through checkpoints and around towers and under bridges and whatnot obstacles. The record for Kalis, my home state, is a redonkulos 521 laps. You got to tune for efficiency and speed, straight line and through the turns. And since nobody can pack all that distance in one chassis, you have to pit and recharge, and that there sucks up time too.
The best of the best? They drop gajillions on their chassis. Slicker than slick no friction paint, ion induction vortice control, ununtrium impeller blades, they even drop the radar to save weight and make my cheap frame look like a lead balloon. I blow every spare shanix I can earn as a waitress but I still have a long way to race before I can play with the top guns.”
