As they moved down the tunnel, Prowl began to notice things.
While most of the area seemed to have had a bulldozer barge through at top speed, this being signs of Bulkhead’s passage through, there were signs of other beings having passed through as well.
Cybertronian beings.
He’d seen some clues to that towards the beginning of the tunnel, but as he crouched down and lifted the visor from over his eyes he could see it now. Besides pedde marks there were servo impressions, judging by the size coming from someone no bigger than Javelin. Curious. No Autobot records indicated that anyone had come this way since that fateful day. That meant one of two things.
One: a neutral, most likely a scavenger, had come this way attracted by the possible trace of energon left by Breakdown during the dissection.
Two: the Decepticons had mobilized in an attempt to track down MECH themselves and seek possible retribution.
Possibility they succeeded? Twenty point zero four five percent. Judging by MECH’s continued activity, and with what Prowl knew about the Decepticon justice system, that meant that it was more than likely that MECH managed to escape and ‘go to the wind’ as he believed the humans said it. As he thought it though, another thought came into Prowl’s mind. While there had been an attempt to call a truce earlier that had ended in failure, perhaps other alternatives could be pursued.
False flag operation? Make the Cons think that another one of their own had been taken by MECH and killed? No. It was unlikely that he could get any support behind that plan from anyone at base. Still, he filed it away in the back of his mind before standing back up and continuing down the train tunnel.
