CHARACTER INFO
Name: Thundercracker
Age: Mid 40’s
Gender: Mech
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Decepticons
Original Occupation: Energon Seeker
Occupation/Specialization: Frontliner
Appearance:
Thundercracker is slightly taller and larger in frame than his brother Starscream, standing a good two feet taller than the Air Commander. He’s predominantly colored teal and light gray with a gray protoform. Features a black helm with black forearms.
The heels of his feet become the engines of his jet mode. He has large seeker wings with red main stripes and a single line of white trim across that line. His eyes are crimson as are most Decepticons. His fighter cockpit sits on his chest between two vents, colored orange. Two large crests rise up from his shoulders over his head. Armor plates are rounded and smooth. (Here)
Altmode: F/A-18E Super Hornet colored teal with amber canopy, red stripe down the wings and white detailing. (Here)
Pertinent History:
Thundercracker was sparked during the tail end of Cybertron’s Golden Age in the city of Vos to serve as an energon seeker, whose mission was to travel to distant planets to find more energon for his homeworld alongside his trine leader Starscream. From his creation, Thundercracker was instilled with a sense of loyalty and duty to Vos, Cybertron and his trinemates, whom he considered to be his brothers.
As war began to erupt across Cybertron’s surface between the former gladiator turned revolutionary Megatron, and the data clerk turned leader Optimus Prime, Thundercracker decided to remain neutral as he did not care to get involved in the fighting. He had his job to do, and that was enough for him. But when Vos was attacked by the Decepticons and bombed, he was surprised and slightly outraged at first when Starscream swore allegiance to Megatron. Even when Starscream explained his “reasoning” it left Thundercracker wanting more, but out of loyalty to one he considered a brother he swore allegiance to the Decepticon cause as well.
As the war dragged on, Thundercracker began to stand out amongst his new Decepticon comrades. He did not take particular glee in slaying Autobots, or destroying cities. To him, the war was just a mission to be completed as efficiently and properly as his former role as an Energon seeker. This stood out in contrast to Starscream, for as he watched his former commander seemed to change before his eyes. No longer content with commanding the seekers, Starscream seemed to set his sights on ruling the Decepticon’s themselves by overthrowing Megatron.
To Thundercracker, seeing Starscream start to spiral down the path of greed and savagery came as a surprise. At first, he tried to talk Starscream out of it, to get him to see that nothing good would come of it. Unfortunately, his words fell on deaf audio receptors. Unable to stand beside his brother anymore, Thundercracker did the one thing he had sworn he’d never do.
He left Starscream to his own devices.
Petitioning successfully to Lord Megatron and receiving a different assignment away from Starscream, Thundercracker was transferred directly to the front lines, as he figured Starscream would stay behind the lines. It worked for the most part, besides the times when Starscream was forced to come to the front lines by Megatron, but for the most part he would just ignore the Air Commander unless necessary.
With Cybertron going dark, Thundercracker fled the planet as the rest of his race did, having an advantage with his capability for space flight and his energon tracking abilities allowing him to survive on his own for a long time. As he wandered the cosmos, he eventually found his way into Earth’s solar system and picked up Decepticon signals as well as Energon traces coming from the third planet in the system. He decided to make his way there to see if he could assist them.
Personality:
Thundercracker stands out compared to most Decepticons in his personality and temperament. He’s very even tempered, very rarely losing his cool. The one thing that will consistently without fail drive him over the edge and make him lose his cool is either being compared to Starscream, or having to listen to Starscream’s endless prattling.
When he arrives on Earth, he becomes fascinated with the native human population, specifically the media entertainment options such as television, cinema and theatre. Despite being so young as a species, he remains impressed with their development. Also compared to most Decepticons, Thundercracker does not seem to share the overall hatred of the Autobots that most of his comrades have. He still views them as the enemy, but not as scum.
He’s quiet and reserved most of the time, but he does enjoy being around other bots and talking with them, getting to know them. In a way, it reminds him of the old camaraderie of the seekers back in Vos, before the war came.

Dislikes:
Scheming, Treason, Bigotry, Starscream, Being Cooped Up Inside, Being Underwater
Strengths/Weapons:
Distance Weapons: In bot mode, Thundercracker can morph his forearms into medium grade blaster cannons, capable of severely damaging light armor, punching through medium armor and denting heavy armor.
Warbird: In his F/A-18E alternate form, Thundercracker boasts one M61 Vulcan rotary cannon that can shred light armor, as well as air to air and air to ground missiles fitted under his wings and body. He can carry up to four missiles at a time before having to reload, and the explosive payload of the missiles is capable of seriously damaging heavy armor if it was a direct hit.
Close Range: For close range work, Thundercracker carries two short swords on his back. These swords are only effective against medium to light armor, but he is quite effective with them as weapons.
Outlier Ability: Thundercracker builds up energy during flight inside his body, and is capable of unleashing it in a powerful sonic boom in both vehicle and robot mode, capable of knocking over heavy frame bots within fifteen yards, medium frames within thirty and light frames within forty five, in addition to overloading nearby audio receptors within a two hundred yard radius. However this move burns about half of his total energon reserves. This does not effect him besides draining his energon, though if he does not release it for a long time it will release itself when he least expects it.
Flyboy: Thundercracker is a skilled combat pilot with centuries of experience in both air to air combat and air to ground combat. He is second only to a few Cybertronian flyers.
Battle Hardened: Having fought in combat for eons, Thundercracker has grown accustomed to the battlefield and the chaos involved. As such, he can keep his level head during the stress of combat.
Medium Armor: Thundercracker is fitted with medium grade armor plating specifically around his torso and shoulders to add stronger protection to vital systems such as his spark chamber, though it leaves his joints and limbs relatively unprotected.
Space Flight: Thundercracker is a former energon seeker, capable of space flight and breaking out of a planet’s atmosphere provided he has enough fuel to last the trip.
Weaknesses:
Need to Fly!: Like any seeker, Thundercracker feels the need to always be in the air. Any extended period of time that he spends inside or without seeing the sky starts to make him feel quite claustrophobic.
Not that Tight: Thundercracker is an exceptional air to air combatant, but one weakness he suffers from due to his size is his maneuverability. A smaller and slower flyer would be able to cut inside him in a maneuvering engagement.
Weak Points: Despite his armor protecting his essential systems, Thundercracker has vulnerable points on his joints and arms. His wings are also extremely sensitive to damage and any sustained trauma to them could overload his pain receptors.
Fooled ‘em: While Thundercracker’s vehicle missiles have a high amount of explosive damage, they are capable of having their guidance systems fooled and sending them flying off course or possibly back at their sender.
All Over The Place: While Thundercracker’s outlier ability is quite powerful, he remains unable to direct the pulses in any direction except outward. Thus he is in danger of hitting his allies as well as his enemies.
Not Associated: Thundercracker resents any association with Starscream, therefore he becomes visibly upset if either addressed as Starscream or associated with Starscream in any way.
Special Skills:
Levitate: Thundercracker can levitate in mid air and move around briefly in robot mode due to his jet thrusters on his heels. This burns more energy than normally flying though, so he can only use it sparingly.
Holo-Avatar: Thundercracker can project a holo-matter avatar into the pilot seat of his aircraft form, dressed in Navy fighter pilot apparel with full mask and visor over his face. The pilot’s helmet has Decepticon symbols over each ear, and the helmet is colored the same teal as his chassis with a red stripe trimmed in white on both sides down the center. His jumpsuit is the standard olive green of the United States Navy. The name “Lieutenant Thomas ‘Sonic’ Campell” is on all name badges.
