The fact that Bee kept the piece she had given him was not lost on Petrichor.
Yep. Definately gonna share my rock collection with Bee later.
Carefully, she eyed the boulder before them. ‘Climb over it?’ They certainly could - especially if they boosted each other - but whoever was on the bottom would have to be super solid in their footing or they’d both likely take a nasty tumble. Or they could avoid the risk of falling entirely and try to squeeze through the side. They’d lose some paint for sure but Petra was pretty sure they’d both be able to fit through. However, she wasn’t sure how Bee did with tight spaces. If he got wedged and panicked, he could get himself even more stuck and then they’d really be in a jam. So either way was a risk, just in different ways.
“Which do you think you’d be more comfortable with, Bee? We could make the squeeze and we wouldn’t have to worry about potentially falling, but it wouldn’t be pretty. We might get kinda stuck in a few spots and have to really shimmy - in which case it’d be really uncomfortable, maybe even painful.”
She eyed his expressive door wings, mentally trying to measure them and him compared to the space of the gap. The last thing they wanted was some dented or torn kibble. Petrichor already knew she’d be scraping down to the base coat of her chassis. And then there was her push bar to worry about too.
“Or we could climb. If we do that, then I’m thinking one of us could give the other a boost. From there the bot up top could help pull whoever’s below. It’s just, this slope we’re on is not ideal for any kind of climbing in the instance someone falls. If that happens, we’ll probably be calling an emergency ground bridge.”
Her face grimaced even thinking about tumbling all the way back down, hitting every other smaller boulder they passed or scrambled over on their way up.
