Player Info:
Name/Alias: Foxdroid / Fox
Character Info:
Name: Crescent
Mental Age: Late thirties to early forties
Gender: Male / Mech
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Original Occupation: Animal researcher / Biologist
Occupation/Specialization: Recon/scouting, soldier
Appearance:
Build / armor: In terms of build, Crescent is on the thin side, though not really all that tall, being about a head and a half larger than Knock Out. [about 23.5 ft / 7.1 meters] His armor plating is lightweight and closely fitting, giving him a sleek and aerodynamic look. It’s coloration is almost completely white, with dull lilac and gray accents. Underneath, the unarmored sections of his body are all a much darker, near-black shade of indigo. This mostly muted color palette is contrasted by a small number of bright yellow plating pieces and bio-lights. His wings are rather large, and tend to be downward-pointing. However, they are capable of moving upwards to express emotion.
Facial features: Crescent’s face is completely white, matching his armor. The outer portion of his optics are black, and his irises are yellow.
Other: He has a black brace-like plate on his right arm, which serves as a perch for his cassette Luna. There's a slot on the top side of the plate where she can dock when in rifle mode.
He will also often be seen sporting a pair of glasses, due to having issues with the functionality of his optics. They have a round shape to them, and are tinted a light purple color.
Altmode: British Aerospace Hawk
Pertinent History:
Sparkled before the start of the great war, with his owl cassette Luna, Crescent spent the majority of his early life in his home city-state of Vos. He was assigned to the scientific sector, given the current planetary state of peace. Under the caste system, he had something of an upper middle class rank, which left him without much overall power but a degree of control over his personal choices.
Occupation-wise, he eventually settled on becoming an animal researcher / biologist and took up a position at a complex which served as both a lab and conservation center. His main duties consisted of helping his team conduct field studies, as well as tending to the animals in their care (Typically a mix of Cybertronian fauna and various species from other planets). In time, he would also eventually wind up serving as the resident bird keeper. He did genuinely enjoy his job while it lasted, and became close friends with a number of his teammates.
When the war finally broke out, Crescent found himself conflicted. Having been a supporter of Megatron and his quest for equality prior to the start of the conflict, he cautiously took his side. Cautiously, because he had hoped that the ills of their society could be fixed without violence, and the leader’s newly united army seemed to be committing a fair bit of it. However, all of this changed when someone very close to him, his apprentice, was killed by an Autobot. Former concerns were thrown to the wind, in his grief, and he turned on the faction.
He formally joined the Decepticon ranks shortly after the fact, perhaps motivated by spite, but also because he felt as though remaining an unarmed civilian in a war would put his life in jeopardy. After a stint in a training camp run by the army early into the war, he learned the basics of combat, and had proper weaponry installed. He also had Luna converted to her current rifle alt mode at the time, as her former was not really ideal for the current circumstances due to only being a tranquilizing gun meant to be used on animals.
He contributed in what ways he could, which often meant helping with reconnaissance work and scouting, or occasionally helping out in aerial fights. He always gave his best effort, and stayed loyal and devoted to Megatron...for a time. Over the course of the war, his faith in the Decepticon cause had grown flimsy. Years of watching his chosen faction descend further and further into corruption from within left him feeling disillusioned, and at times, angry.
These many bottled up frustrations finally reached a head within the last couple of months of the war, and he formally defected, intending to strike out as a neutral, at first. However...a fight broke out between himself and one his former allies in the air force, which left him badly injured. It was, in fact, an Autobot and her friends who found him in this state, and chose to show him mercy and take him in for treatment. This act of kindness is what ultimately lead to him deciding to join their cause. The higher ups very cautiously allowed him into their ranks. [This was, perhaps, in part due to how badly assistance was needed at the time]. Though most were understandably hesitant to trust him, he did eventually prove he was serious about the change of heart after fighting against Decepticon forces on more than one occasion.

Having missed the departure of the ark due to being tied up in a particularly bad conflict, Crescent and his group of friends fled the planet in a mid-size starship that was owned and piloted by their de-facto “leader”. Said friend eventually taught the others the basics on how to work the smaller single-person ships stored within it’s hull, as well as his own, so that they would be able to handle themselves should something happen to him.
Things were as good as they could be, for the most part- until someone accidentally uncovered a very damaging secret that their leader had been hiding. This led to an explosive fight amongst all parties involved, which would later end with everyone cutting ties and going their own separate ways. Crescent took to planet hopping in search of others after the fallout, though unfortunately, these efforts were cut short when his ship broke down as he was attempting to leave Earth’s moon. The ensuing crash rendered the ship damaged beyond the point of repair, and left him with a bent wing. Between these two things, Crescent found himself effectively stranded, and had to resort to sending out a distress signal as a last ditch effort to escape his fate.
Personality:
When he was younger, Crescent was a very laid back and easy going mech who got along well enough with most of the people in his life. Many enjoyed working with him, and thought of him as a dependable friend. Unfortunately, the events of the war as well as his own personal losses caused him to lose touch with this side of himself and become more closed off and withdrawn.
Being more private these days, he tends to keep his emotions and personal life to himself. However, he’ll still talk to those around him, and is willing to form surface level friendships.
He does genuinely enjoy having company when in the mood, though he’s an introvert by nature, and needs his alone time. If unable to have this alone time, he’ll likely become a bit restless and mopey.
Likes: Luna, birds, flying, nature, nighttime, oceans/lakes, reading
Dislikes: What has become of the Decepticon faction, people who mistreat animal bots, small spaces, crowds
Weapons:
Luna: As his missiles are only usable in jet mode, Luna has always been the go-to option for ranged combat on the ground. She transforms into a rifle that shoots concentrated bullet-like blasts of energon in single shots. The shots are precise, but do not cause widespread damage like those from a larger weapon like a blaster. They are capable of piercing light or medium-strength armor, and at least putting a dent in heavy armor if the enemy in question is close enough.
The effective range is close to about 1.6 KM [1 miles], though the farther away the target is, the lower the general accuracy will typically be.
Missiles: His sole weapon in alternate mode. He keeps a set of five, and is able to use them for either air-to-air or air-to-ground attacks. They have a range of up to 20 KM [12 miles], and can cause a moderate amount of damage to light or medium strength armor. Heavy armor will also sustain a bit of damage if hit, though not as much.
Claws: If Crescent is concerned, and has no other means of self defense, he will dig his claws into his enemies. They aren’t sharp enough to pierce through plating proper, but if he can work them into an exposed area he can do damage and tear more sensitive mechanisms or structures.
Strengths:
Speed: Crescent is quite fast in both forms. Not to the point that it would be considered abnormal or noteworthy, but he’s definitely quicker on his feet than the average bot. He’s usually good at chasing someone down or making a getaway when the situation calls for it
Good aim: His aim is usually quite good when it comes to his ranged attacks. He’s been shooting missiles and bullets for a very, very long time, so experience is on his side. The fact his overall accuracy tends to be boosted due to his connection to his cassette is also helpful, as is his targeter scope.
Quiet: Crescent has a pair of shock-absorbing liners on the undersides of both of his feet that reduce noise and give him a quieter step. He’s pretty good at sneaking up on people because of this. Note: this only makes his footsteps softer and does not affect the rest of his body or anything on his jet mode.
Composed: Despite his internal struggles, he’s good at putting on a calm front and keeping his emotions in check. There are very few things that will genuinely upset him to the point it will be outwardly noticeable.
Alert: All his years of scouting and doing recon work have made him more attentive and observant of what’s going on around him in his environment. Because of this, he might pick up on things that others don’t.
Knows how to ship: Not likely to be put to use on Earth, but he does have a basic knowledge of how to drive and operate starships due to his former friend teaching him the essentials.
Weaknesses:
My bird is my only gun: As Crescent had always relied on Luna for all of his grounded combat needs, he never sought out any sort of blaster modifications or other built in weaponry as he didn’t feel it was necessary. If someone manages to wrestle her away from him, he’s going to be in trouble.
In addition to this, Luna will inevitably run out of energy at some point. 10 or so shots is usually the upper limit. She can draw more energy from her carrier, but if this is done for any length of time it will start to weaken him, especially if he’s sustained some sort of damage.
Limited missiles: As stated above, his sole weapon in his alternate mode is a set of missiles. He can only use five at a time, and isn’t really capable of getting more mid-battle, so he has to be selective about when he chooses to use them.
Light armor: Crescent has very light armor plating. This is helpful for flying and enhancing his speed, but as one would imagine, does not offer a great deal of protection. Hit him with a couple of well-aimed attacks from a powerful enough weapon and he’ll be down for the count.
Melee who?: He has no melee skills to speak of, and no real ‘weapons’ to use for close-range combat beyond his own fists and claws. He’ll try to put up a fight if cornered, though he’s not very physically strong and larger bots won’t have to work hard to subdue him.
VIB [very important bird]: His cassette is very important to him, in more ways than one. If he were to become separated from her temporarily, he would essentially be left without a reliable means of self defense in root mode. On the emotional front, there’s the fact that Luna is the only ‘bot he cares for that he hasn’t lost to the war, be that by death or betrayal, so the anxiety over something bad potentially happening to her would eat him alive until he was able to reunite with her. Permanently losing her is something he tries not to think about, and truthfully, could not cope with. Losing a cassette would be quite devastating for any carrier, and a list of other significant losses that came before it would only serve to worsen the problem.
Overthinker: Crescent prefers to thoroughly assess situations before acting, and although his impulse control has its upsides, it can also be a detriment. He might spend too long thinking about how he needs to approach an enemy or perform a task, and will look up only to see someone’s fist about a foot away from his face.
In addition to this, a decent chunk of his time will be spent dwelling on the past and over-analyzing a whole host of things.
Weak resolve: He often struggles to go through with things that he knows are going to lead to uncertain outcomes or create conflict, and will try to postpone them or maybe just avoid them altogether. This is a big part of why he stayed in the Decepticon ranks as long as he did, despite being opposed to many of their decisions. It may have kept him safe at the time, but now he has heaps of regret to deal with over how long it took him to take action.
Difficult choices and hard conversations aren’t his strong suit.
Guilty Conscience: He's less than thrilled with himself for a number of things he participated in when he was a Decepticon, as well as how long it took him to defect. Discussions centering around this, especially if they are being had with an enemy, will cause the normally calm and collected seeker to become emotional. He might make some dumb choices in such a state, or not pay enough attention to what's going on around him, which will inevitably cause issues during a fight or other dire situation.
Special Skills:
Critter expert: It might not be very useful now on Earth, but hey, Crescent could talk to you about robot birds and various space critters for days.
Extra info:
-He speaks with a British accent
-There is a golden wing-shaped charm that stays clipped to the chain on his arm brace at all times, and he has a strong attachment to the small object due to where it came from, a pendant that was once owned by his assistant / apprentice.

Luna
Name: Luna
Gender Equivalent: Female
Species: Snow owl Cassette
Altmode: Rifle
Appearance: Luna essentially looks like a robotic version of a snowy owl, with the white and black coloration to match. Her optics are yellow in color, just like her owner’s, and she also sports the same light indigo accents on her armor.
There are a number of segmented feathers on her wings, tail, and other parts of her body, which almost give her a “fluffy” looking appearance…well, as fluffy as metal can look.
In terms of height, she would likely come up around the upper calf area on bots roughly around Ratchet's height or be at knee level with those that are smaller in stature, such as Bumblebee. With most adult humans, she will typically be at eye level.
Alt mode: Luna originally transformed into a tranquilizer gun, and was used to help Crescent defend himself should any of the animals he was studying happen to decide that it was time to attack and or eat him. However, when the war broke out, he had her converted into a more combat-suitable standard rifle as the darts weren’t very practical on the battlefield and their effects were not as fast-acting or strong on humanoid ‘bots.
When in rifle mode, she docks into a slot on the top side of the same arm brace plate that serves as her perch. If Crescent switches into his alt mode with her on his person, she’ll wind up somewhere in the storage compartment section of his jet form.
Personality: Luna does not possess the same level of intelligence as a sentient cassette, though she does have a basic level of awareness about what’s going on around her and is capable of forming bonds with others. She can also be trained to perform various tasks in response to vocal commands. Essentially, she’s like a bird you’d find on Earth, just very, very big, and made of metal.
When it comes to her disposition, Luna is very mellow and subdued, perhaps a bit aloof, and tends to just quietly stay perched on Crescent’s arm, shoulder, or whatever nearby object she’s decided to rest on until called into action.
Head pets are usually appreciated, provided you aren’t a total stranger to her [In most cases. Some will be the exception to this rule]. She won’t peck at you if she’s displeased about receiving your head pats, but she will give you a look of intense disapproval and likely try to get away from you.
Humans will not be pounced on, unless they pose a direct threat to herself or someone she cares for, though this guarantee of safety does not necessarily also apply to small moving objects or things that otherwise might remind her of something she would like to eat.
Likes: head scritches, flying, treats, snow
Dislikes: Being interrupted during nap time, underground spaces, being pet by strangers [usually]
History: Prior to the war, Luna spent the majority of her time helping Crescent and his teammates carry out their field research. She would use the cameras in her optics to record things of interest, as well as retrieve items from areas that they were unable to reach. The owl did enjoy her working days, and developed bonds with many of her owner’s coworkers.
Suddenly being thrown into the middle of a war was quite jarring for her, though as it became the new normal, she eventually adjusted. She stuck by Crescent’s side from the beginning until it’s bitter end, and continues to do so to this day, no matter what the future may hold.
Strengths/ Weapons:
Alt mode: Luna is basically her own weapon. by way of being a rifle.
Recording capabilities: Luna has a set of cameras in her optics which she can use to take pictures or record videos. Although this was initially only utilized for wildlife research, it has a variety of uses in the present as well. Surveying areas, taking snapshots of important locations or objects, snooping on foes, etc.
Good vision: Her vision is very sharp and clear, and she can usually detect even the smallest of movements around her, either on the ground or in the air.
Talons: Strong enough to pierce through light armor, and at least scratch up medium strength armor. If someone has her in a hold, she’ll claw at whatever she can reach.
Play dead: If someone other than her owner attempts to use her when she’s in her rifle mode, they won’t get a response out of her.
Determination: She’ll do everything she can to help Crescent and protect him from harm. Her loyalty to her owner drives her to persevere through even the most dire of situations.
Weaknesses:
Physical limitations: At the end of the day, she’s just a bird. She can only do so much damage in animal mode, and attacking in weapon mode is not really possible without Crescent there to pull the trigger. She may be relatively large for an owl, but then again, most of their enemies are about two, three, or four times her size, and would be able to overpower her easily if they got ahold of her.
Sore thumb: Unless she and Crescent are in an arctic area, or the ground is covered in snow, her bright white feathers will be very eye-catching and visible to anyone in her general area.
Limited ammo: Once she burns through her energy reserves, the shots are probably going to stop. 10 is usually her upper limit. She can tap into her carrier’s, though this will probably wind up significantly weakening the both of them if they go on like this for any length of time.
I can’t hear you: Being based on a bird that’s a sight-hunter, she has amazing vision capabilities, though this comes at the cost of having much less refined hearing. She’s not deaf, but won’t pick up on a lot of quieter noises. One could definitely sneak up on her from behind.
Overdoing it: Although her loyalty to Crescent can be a good thing, it can also create problems . Luna will sometimes push herself too far in her attempts to keep him safe or wear down his enemies, much to his dismay. If it gets bad enough, he may have to physically pull her off of whoever she’s decided to go after so she doesn’t hurt herself.
