CHARACTER INFO
Name: Wingdancer
Age: Mid-20's
Gender: Femme, She/Her
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Decepticon
Original Occupation: Aerial Racer / Political Ambassador
Occupation/Specialization: Survey/Scout / Aerial Combat Support
Appearance:
Wingdancer’s frame is built narrow, and lithe - comprised of a lighter chassis and an overall slender, aerodynamic build. She is supported by long legs, a narrow chest plate, and light armaments. She flaunts diligently manicured servos, a waxed and polished shining finish, attractively high-heeled pedes affixed with discreet propulsion thrusters for smooth root-mode flight, and similarly subtle thrusters housed in the centers of palms for smooth aerial maneuverability. A pair of wings angle downward from her back, beneath which lay stabilizing jet vents that work alongside her hand and heel thrusters for stable root-mode flight capabilities.
A long, upward-sloping hooked crest juts outward from either side of her helm, beneath which lay expressive audial processor nodes, or ‘ears.’ She sports a sleek mauve-purple-pink coloration, accented by a bright pop of green in her visor and decal lights, which peek through her chassis along either side of her diaphragm and low along her thighs. Beneath her attractive finish is a baseline of dark gunmetal joints and proto matter.
The stamp of her chosen faction is worn with pride along either metal shoulder plate, held high by her proud and overconfident posture. As her build is overall lightweight, Wingdancer stands on the shorter end of light seeker class frames. At full height, she stands only just taller than Knock Out.
Altmode: Modified Northrop YF-17 Cobra
Pertinent History:
Wingdancer was sparked sometime during the Age of Rust as a data clerk within Iacon, however growing unrest within the post she’d been sparked for had her looking for exterior occupations beyond her given directive. This led the then-nameless Wingdancer into underground aerial racing circuits in the lower city of Iacon - where she’d adopt her moniker ‘Wingdancer’ and shape herself into a semi-impressive racer through the use of dubiously-attained and shoddily installed upgrades. A few wins, in time, would catch the eye of a Sponsor, who would become a long-time work partner.
Said Sponsor would lead Wingdancer to more opportunities throughout Iacon and beyond, aiding in raising her renown, netting higher quality upgrades, and turning the then-clerk into something of an underdog superstar of her time. A bigger name meant higher stakes and higher stress, which eventually caught up to the young racer in the Vosnian Grand Prix - a turning point for her career turned disaster.
The stress of too much work and too frequent upgrades caused a fuel line break in the final push of the race - causing a fiery energon blow-out, which sent her careening dramatically from her would-be win. An injury which would be swiftly disregarded by her Sponsor - whose interests lay in getting her back on the track as soon as possible. A gesture that sowed contempt in the young racer, who would in time turn on her Sponsor and publicly endorse the ideals of one Megatronus - a gladiator, vocalizing dissent within the pits of Kaon.
In the years to follow, Wingdancer would be made to run any number of races, in any number of leagues; rebuilding her reputation back to the Vosnian Grand Prix. In her second run of the race, she’d finally have her win. Within the winner’s circle, Wingdancer would cut down her abusive sponsor with a blade purchased and installed within the unregulated lower markets of Iacon - endorsing the controversial ideals of Megatronus in the same breath.
For both her victory and gesture, Wingdancer would earn the interested eye of the Air Commander of Vos, Starscream. Utilizing his political influence and authority within Vos, the Air Commander would see Wingdancer escorted to Kaon - wherein she would proclaim her loyalties to the growing Decepticon movement. Moving forward, Wingdancer would use her celebrity status and influence to spread Decepticon propaganda until the war sparked in earnest - wherein she would be retrofitted for war as a seeker-scout for her impressive speed, and aerial agility.
With the War’s end, Wingdancer would follow her faction in the exodus - boarding a small interstellar ship that meant to tail the Nemesis like so many others, though was thrown off course via shrapnel from the destruction of a fleeing Autobot craft as they crossed through the Space bridge. The engine failed, which left the craft itself drifting, and Wingdancer in long-term stasis within one of the few escape pods ejected from the wreck. Thanks to the pod’s integrated homing feature, however, she has slowly found her path back to the Decepticon Armada.
Personality:
Wingdancer wears an overconfident and show-boating persona - flamboyant and bright, readily equipped with a smarmy smile and wide, sweeping gestures. Her days spent politicking to the benefit of the Decepticons have earned her a charismatic, and likable first impression, though the truth of her lay in her past, and the menacing truth of her willingness to kill for her cause.
She is self-preserving, self-important, and self-obsessed. She is prideful, arrogant, and oftentimes boastful. Wingdancer lives in the attention of others, always seeking praise and validation from wherever she might find it - or seeking negative attention to fuel her brooding and give herself something, or someone, to lay all her problems on. Likewise, she seldom takes responsibility for her actions - boasting a near-nonexistent level of emotional maturity. Blame shifting, finger pointing, anything to dodge ‘getting in trouble.’ She is as juvenile as she is petty.
In her downtime, Wingdancer is either immensely sluggish and prefers long hours spent lounging due to her frequent bouts of fatigue - often reading on her data pad while indulging in high grade… Or, she’s escaped the base and taken to the skies, burning energon against protocol to flex her speed and taste the rush of her old racing days.
She is easily annoyed, apathetic, and uncaring to most - easily bored and inattentive unless faced with a high-ranking officer. Officials have the full brunt of her working facade - the bright and tuned-in socialite, the obedient soldier bent to the will of the Armada. Wingdancer can and will pivot her disposition to keep herself in good graces with her superiors - optimistically servile with a sweeping bow and a smile. Delightfully two-faced and inauthentic, Wingdancer strives to play the role expected of her to a tee, while keeping all poorer thoughts tightly behind a closed mouth.
As she has been drifting through space in long-term stasis since Cybertron’s fall, Wingdancer’s current aim is to keep her head down and mind herself while she learns what became of her faction. Biding her time while she navigates the new dynamics she’s been so abruptly dropped in the middle of.
Likes: High-grade, Lounging, Deep Cyber-tissue polishes, High-speed free-flying, Open air, Competition and Combat (Winning, specifically), Anything that makes her spark race, maintaining her looks, Praise (For anything, really - accomplishment, her looks, obedience, it doesn’t matter), Attention/Being in the limelight, Herself… Wingdancer is fairly narcissistic.
Dislikes: Strenuous work, closed spaces (Moderate Claustrophobia), Moisture, Dirt/Sand, Being belittled/talked down to (Often falsely viewed as a noncombatant for her earlier role in the War - Overcompensates at times to prove she is every bit a soldier as she was a politician).
Strengths/Weapons:
Plasma-Edged Short swords- A pair of blades extend when necessary from either arm. Either blade consists of several segments, which fall overtop her hands with a flick of her wrists and lock into place for combat, and similarly condense to be stowed seamlessly back within her arms. Either blade also sports a plasma edging - white-hot, capable of considerable damage to light-to-medium armored bots. When engaged, the plasma edging protects the construction of the blade itself; if for any reason the plasma is not engaged, the blade can be fragile and prone to breakage along each segment - which makes for an unreliable weapon.
Jet-powered- While the thrusters seated in either of her servos primary use is in root-mode flight agility, Wingdancer can also vent jet flames from either hand, making proximity skirmishes a hazard to her environment, and her enemy. It is typically good for short bouts of flame; inflicted damage depends on the distance from the thruster itself. Close range is likely to damage/singe armor, further distance acts as a deterrent or distraction.
Martial Prowess- While her origins lay in clerical work and racing, long-term war involvement ran Wingdancer through basic training - further honed throughout the war and aided by her honed speed and agility. Even without traditional weaponry, Wingdancer is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant.
Ion Arsenal- Either arm is capable of transforming into manual plasma blasters - a standard piece of equipment for terrestrial, and aerial combat. Either blaster is capable of punching through light-to-medium armor, however, her aim is about as good as any Vehicon. A limit of fifteen to twenty discharges can be observed, before expending munitions; this will place either arm into a minutes-long recharge cycle. Rapid/consecutive ion discharges may also overwhelm either blaster’s heat sink, which can cause mechanical damage and leave Wingdancer temporarily unarmed.
Impressive Speed- For eons since her birth, Wingdancer has poured herself into modding, upgrading, and changing herself to fit the role of a born racer. While she’s yet to outpace her superiors, there is no denying Wingdancer can at the very least rival the fastest of fliers - impressive, considering her working-caste origins.
Underhanded and Sharp-eyed- A smaller frame is smart to observe before nose-diving into conflict; Wingdancer knows herself and knows to keep an optic sharp for openings. To make up for her wire-y frame and smaller stature, she errs on the side of tactical caution - aiming low, taking out exposed joints, and utilizing her environment whenever possible to cut down her foes; be they big, or small. Wingdancer fights in the interest of self-preservation, which often takes on a dishonorable veneer; smart, but dirty.
Weaknesses:
Unstable Heat-Sink- Due to unregulated self-modifications throughout her life, Wingdancer’s frame is prone to stress and, under pressure, can begin to break down. A unique fuel intake modification energizes her body through combustion, which can superheat her core and negatively affect other vital components of her person under duress. This can present as frequent bouts of fatigue, A high metabolic load, and internal heat damage.
Glass-cannon- Sporting a lighter framework when compared against sparked-and-forged Energon Seekers, Wingdancer does not sport much in the way of defense. She has modded herself in favor of speed and agility over many cycles, neglecting armor and plating beyond aesthetics.
Petty Vanity- As a self-modded and self-made Femme, Wingdancer would be mad if she didn’t have a certain excessive amount of love for herself. Up keeping her finish, sharpening her claws, oiling her joints - there is no shortage of self-care to busy herself with. She is committed to looking her best - even to the detriment of others, or the benefit of her foes.
Naïveté- Wingdancer was born in the age of Cybertron's decline - her focus centered on balancing her appointed clerk occupation, and her night-life running circuits in the lower racing tracks of Iacon, under the thumb of an abusive Sponsor. Her oppression and Megatron’s ideals shaped her worldview. She lacks the critical thinking of older, and wiser ‘Cons - and doesn’t care to ruminate or question if or why she should, or shouldn’t be doing something.
Tactical Shortcomings- As referenced prior, the subtle and concealed blade-and-blaster combo artfully hidden within Wingdancer’s arms each sport their caveats. Her blades are prone to fragility for their segmented construction, and her blasters are oft to overheat, each requiring long recharge cycles whenever munitions are spent. Either can land Wingdancer in hot water - and no self-respecting Decepticon wants to get caught with their wings clipped.
Fliers Don’t Thrive Confined- Wingdancer can present with moderate to severe claustrophobia - far preferring the open air to enclosed spaces. This manifests in anxious behaviors - picking at her finish, fidgeting/knee-bouncing, stress, and bodily tension. If subjected to severely confined spaces, she can begin an anxiety-driven spiral that grows worse through extended exposure. This can present as panic, immense mental-emotional distress, and disorientation.
Special Skills:
Disarming Presentation- Visually, Wingdancer appears unarmed and harmless - a pretty thing to look at, stylish and well-maintained to the point of vanity. For those who aren’t in the know, it’s easy to dismiss her as a non-threat.
Aerial Acrobat- Additional thrusters modded into the heels of her pedes and palms of her hands, as well as secondary boosters and directional flaps along her spine just beneath her wings in root mode, Wingdancer lives up to her name with enhanced aerial alacrity inside, and out of her alt-mode.
Hot-Blooded- A unique combustion-core fuel intake modded in place of what Wingdancer was sparked with pushes her core to higher-than-normal temperatures. While this does mean she metabolizes energon at an alarming rate, this function allows her to overclock her core, and accelerate on a dime - however, at heavy risk and cost to herself.

Modular- Wingdancer is always looking for ways to improve herself… and not in the self-help and improvement way. She can often be found browsing spare parts in her spare hours - anything that she could pick apart and retrofit to herself. This can be anything from Med Bay’s stores. Any new installation requires a reliable medic on hand.
