-Player Info-
Name/Alias: Stark
-Character Info-
Name: Optimus Prime
Age (or human equivalent): Human Equivalent of around 35
Gender (or human equivalent): Mech/Male
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Occupation/Specialization: Spiritual/military/political leader of the Autobots (has a past as a data clerk/librarian
Appearance/Altmode: Fairly large for an Autobot, he stands about a head shorter than Megatron. Very blue, very expressive optics - they occasionally betray his mood when nothing else does. The majority of his armoring is focused into his upper body, chest, arms, and shoulders - military heavy weapons class thickness, making anything but heavy artillery rounds straight to the chest little more than painful. That said, his abdomen and legs are very basically armored - giving him high maneuverability but making him vulnerable to lower body shots.
Primarily red, blue and silver, Optimus transforms into a Peterbilt 379 semi truck of the same colors. Has a trailer that he sometimes uses but does not keep it with him most times. His design had been described as very 'traditionally Iacon-built Cybertronian'. His holo avatar is modeled off a younger Agent William Fowler.
History:
Before the war, Optimus was a simple data clerk known as Orion, a standard archivist mechanoid commissioned by the the overseer at the Iacon Hall of Records. While working, he became concerned with the corruption of power on Cybertron and started corresponding with a gladiator named Megatronus on issues of equality. Inspired by his ideas and words, he began to support Megatronus and eventually openly speak out against the caste system and defend his friend from political attacks as they arose against him.
The two approached the Counsel with their concerns and Orion was surprised to find that the members willing to listen to him over Megatronus. Orion was named a def facto Prime under the current Prime, Zeta, and tasked with recovering the long lost Matrix of Leadership. Megatronus, angered by the Counsel's actions, severed all ties with them... and Orion.
Megatronus betrayed him and launched a uprising against the ruling class who sought o crush the nascent rebellion. This violent retaliation to the already violent uprising only rallied soldiers to the Decepticon cause. Facing the birth of now inevitable war, Orion reluctantly picked up arms against Megatron in order to defend Cybertron.
No one is totally certain how, but at some point shortly after the death of Zeta Prime, Orion traveled to the depths of Cybertron in attempt to purify it’s core and returned with the legendary Matrix of Leadership, an item which not only symbolized his legitimacy as a Prime but which also transformed him physically into Optimus Prime.
Optimus now leads the Autobots in their bleak war against the Decepticons. Since their home is now nothing more than a dead husk, Optimus and his Autobots have vowed to protect Earth and prevent the planet from suffering the same fate as their homeworld. He keeps himself hopeful that they can end the world and restore peace among their kind.
Personality:
Intelligent, calm, wise, positive, caring, weary. He's a powerhouse of strength but also one of the most gentle--both in personality and speech. He leads from the front, usually the first into battle and the last out of it. He's seen a lot during his life, some good, most bad. Being a very kind and emotional mech at spark, all the pain and suffering wears on him and has led him to distance himself from his mechs, which can sometimes project as stand-offish or awkward.
The fact of the matter is, Optimus tends to keep a tight control on his emotions and thus, socially, Optimus is distant and sometimes out of place. He truly does care about each and every one of them, but losing so many soldiers over and over has inured him somewhat to pain of loss. However, that does not suggest he doesn't enjoy being around his fellow Autobots or that he is unable to keep from offering them comfort when it is needed. A good thing to remember about Optimus Prime is that, no matter what, how long the war, how ugly the history, or grand his gestures, he is still the archivist from Iacon at spark.
Likes: Peace and quiet, the pursuit of knowledge, the company of friends, healing, word/math puzzles, listening to others laugh, e-books
Dislikes: Inequality, suffering, fighting, hypocrisy, being lied to, lolcats, loud music, chit-chat, small talk
Strengths:
Magnetic Hero: He's a commander that people respect and listen to when he talks. If one doesn't fight for his cause or for others they will usually, at the very least, fight for him.
[/ul]
Weaknesses:
Primes Don't Party: Optimus has been leader a long time and does not deal with his emotions well. He tries to shut them off rather than finding an appropriate time and place to expresses them. This tends to make him socially distant and sometimes isolated from others - giving way occasionally to grief or intense anger that goes unaddressed.
[/ul]
Special skills: Optimus is a highly trained archivist and as such a top-level cryptographer with a lot of skill in field of cryptanalysis and code-breaking. As such, he also enjoys word puzzles and number games.
Extra Info:
Optimus' knowledge and interface with the Matrix of Leadership is incomplete at best as knowledge of the Matrix had long since fallen into repute and legend. While he possesses the wisdom of the Primes and is privy to certain knowledge and insights, he poorly understands how it's happening or in what manner the Matrix influences his body and mind. Is a source of doubt for him occasionally. The initial processor taking the Matrix into his systems was traumatic, not easy. Also, he's finished Project Gutenberg... like... all of it.

Orion was named a def facto Prime under the current Prime, Zeta, and tasked with recovering the long lost Matrix of Leadership. Megatronus, angered by the Counsel's actions, severed all ties with them... and Orion.
{Note*}There is some debate that the overseer at the Iacon Hall of Records and Orion's mentor, Alpha Trion, may have spoken to them on his behalf. Furthermore, there is speculation that Orion was made Prime as a political gambit to split the lower-caste uprising and position the Iacon-built Orion as a figure head for the people.
{Note*}During this time there are incomplete military records that suggest Optimus and Zeta Prime were constantly at odds, the Autobots following Optimus in spirit and morale while Zeta himself commanded the army as a whole as supreme general. Some military analysts suggest Zeta Prime tasked Optimus with impossible military objectives... and Optimus still achieved them. Others credit Zeta Prime with utilizing the de facto Prime's natural talent, but Zeta and Optimus were often seen as rivals.
