My, my my - hasn't it been a while since I've done one of these. For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, I have been rather... occupied with leading a faction, and am happy to report things are going well. Very well, in fact. I did, however, find some time in my schedule to assist your Admins in writing another Newsletter so that you can all be kept in the loop with things going on around the forum.
If, after reading this you have questions, comments, or concerns…? The Admins are always available to contact either through PM or a quick poke on Discord. Unfortunately, I am but a lowly messenger in this situation, and am rather unequipped at present to handle things myself when it comes to the board itself. I have to leave the Admins with something to do now, don’t I…
So, without further ado...
Things have been a little slower as of late, and the Admins would like to apologize and also take some blame for this. Real life has, unfortunately, been kicking their butts – which some of you may have gleaned from comments in Discord and the, ah, slight delay in some tags. Things are starting to pick back up now for all, so hopefully, with this upswing, things may start moving again toward
On that note... from an outsiders point of view, it may look like there isn't a lot going on at times. This is just a gentle reminder that while the board does run at a slower pace as a whole, there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes and many a plot in the pipeline, as it were. The Admins would like to extend a thank you to you members – and applicants - for hanging in with them while things seem a little slower than normal.
I assure you they won't be for long.
Still woefully at the bottom of the sea... even if plans have been suggested to me – thank you Sparkplug – on how to retrieve it from the depths. For, ah – reasons of which I am not inclined to state here in this newsletter, that is not quite on my agenda at this time. So for the time being Decepticons, head over to Blackridge and for the love of Primus stop complaining.
You are probably all well aware by now that the Cruor virus has somehow made it's way to the Omega Outpost. Ratchet I'm sure is working tirelessly to find out the cause and contain what effects it's already had... While over on the Decepticon side, well... Knock Out and Sparkplug, you better find a solution quickly. Only time will tell how this resolves for all – given as of yet nobody has worked out how it's spread or what it actually is.
Flatline? I'll deal with you later.
You poor things. Your already pitiful rations are no doubt even smaller by now – things are probably getting scary. If you have an idea you'd like to pitch forth on how to rectify this, by all means, you are welcome to try. Of course, this does not mean you can start crafting Energon out of thin air on a whim – but if you'd like to try to negotiate a deal with the Decepticons or try to seek out a mine of your very own? Good luck to you.
With House's prolonged absence and unfortunate departure from the board itself due to real life, this plotline has fallen to the side for now. It may be picked up at a later date by one of the Admins – but for now, consider it shelved. (Although who knows, maybe they are always watching.)
Are they still around? One was certainly interested in the goings on at Odessa’s Junkyard… Not sure if anything will come from that, but that is not my problem… Watch this space, I suppose.
A gentle reminder to all about roleplay etiquette. This has been brought up a few times in the Discord in the past, but I feel like giving my own take on it, and a refresher nudge in general, may help reinforce the importance in this matter...
If your character does an action, and that action has an effect on another character? Be it hitting, kissing, chopping off a limb, shoving... you get the idea... please ask the player beforehand if it is alright to do so. If your action isn't going to be a guaranteed hit, and does not need permission? An attempt of the action must be made. This way the player gets to decide, and gets to remain in control of their character when working out the outcome to whatever it is.
Attempt to hit. Attempt to crash tackle. Attempt to overthrow Megatron and take the Decepticons for yo--
Ahem... When in doubt, ask.
Between the time of when this forum began, and now – it has evolved a lot both in terms of player base and content. As all things do, given enough time. Administration have been looking at the more technical side of things, the - ah, behind the scenes things as it were. The navigation system of the website and some of the older pages, they realized, can probably be condensed down and streamlined. Not only making it easier for new players to find their way around, but also for current players to find information when it is needed.
While you players have nothing to worry about, this is just a heads up that some things are going to be happening behind the scenes and changes may occur to the layout of the website in the near future.
Here are some things that are, apparently, in the works-
This is getting an overhaul, but as I personally have no knowledge of what that overhaul entails? Zercon will add a post after this one with the details, including a new rule regarding Introduction Threads.
As of now, it isn't very clear that we accept canons from other areas of the Transformers universe. This will be made clearer, and the Admins send their apologies for any confusion regarding this. On that note, though - any characters brought in from other universes - be they comics, movies, TV-shows… They must be restyled to fit into the Transformers: Prime universe. The Admins can help with this if you are struggling to make things work.
The Bulletin Board has fallen to the wayside a little, what with all the big plots going on right now keeping people busier than normal. This will be rebooted, with more applicable and up to date events – making it easier for new players to join in. Big, story-driven plots aren’t for everyone and the Admins understand this, and so to keep things interesting there will be other things going on as well.
For now, it's probably for the best that you- ah, forget the Bulletin Board is even there. The plots on it are severely outdated, almost like Megatron's views.
As always, if you have any plots that you'd like to see come to fruition? The Admins are always willing to chat. Player run plots are usually okay, with a few exceptions, anyway.
There may be a Truce in play right now, but like all good things... it probably won't last. At my request of having an area for Decepticons to plan in... ah, private, there have been talks about having areas of the forum for each respective faction to do just this. Of course, there is an issue in that we have players here with characters on both sides of the war, but I like to think we're all above metagaming sensitive information, or discussing things out in a public setting such as the Discord, mm? We do hope it will encourage plotting with your particular teams, as things have been rather stagnant with this 'playing nice with the truce' thing. The Admins will let you all know, I’m sure, what is going on with this.
Thank you all once again for allowing me a moment of your human attention span to read this newsletter, and I suppose I should give thanks to the Administration for letting me write it... Zercon will be adding a post after mine, I am sure, to discuss the changes to the application process, as well as anything of note I have missed.
Decepticons, be ready for anything - change is on the horizon, I feel.
Autobots... Well, good luck.
~Lord Starscream, Commander of the Decepticons, Slayer of Cliffjumper, and better than you.
