Am I someone that's worth saving anymore...?
Day 2 | Week 2
Looking for resources had been the excuse that had been used, but when Knock Out had offered to go with him Breakdown told him he needed to clear his processor. He didn't want anyone tagging along this time, didn't want someone to hold him back or to be watching over him. Not when he didn't need them.
Alone.
He'd been driving for a while in circles, though with a target location in mind. He hadn't known what was drawing him there or why he felt he NEEDED to be, but there it had been, calling to him, and it was a difficult thing to escape his mind when he was do distracted.
And distraction was peak at the moment.
Now here he was in a familiar place, surrounded by silence that was cut through by the occasional falling of debris. This was a peaceful bit of serenity in the middle of who really knew where, though not because of how often he had been here. He'd only been here once, shuffling through and rummaging the otherwise trash heaps to find something of value. This place had settled his nerves moreso than anywhere else in a long while.
Calm, complacent, secure. He hadn't felt those things in a long time, and even now he missed them. Was it the place itself that brought those sensations to him? No. The company had been. Even if they had found themselves in several predicaments that made him want to hurl the yellow scout off the nearest cliffside, it has still been....
Enjoyable. Fun, even.
Breakdown huffed in annoyance and curled in on himself slightly as he sat on the heap of trash, dimming his optic slightly as he stared down at his pedes. While he felt like a traitor for abandoning Knock Out while they were in this new location, he also felt... betrayed. Gravely so. Had they known he was infected? Had they planned this? How far would they have gone to use him to take out their enemy, knowing the damage he could have actually done if he'd been allowed to lose his mind completely? To lose ultimate control.
Knock Out knew that was something that terrified him- that he had worked so hard to maintain throughout all of this, but the medic had just....
He was here alone. Foolishly, he'd almost hoped that annoying little Auto brat would have shown up here to see if there were more treasures. Though, with the truce no longer in effect, the Autobots were probably playing safe again and holding themselves up within their safe little walls somewhere.
Where it was safe. Where they all looked out for one another.
Where it wasn't every mech for themselves.
Breakdown's frame trembled slightly and he shuttered his optic, his thoughts traveling in every direction. So much for clearing his mind, when it seemed that everything was only becoming more and more hazy the more time he spent alone.
