Name: Fairwinds
Age: 40*
* During the uprising on Cybertron, Fairwinds throttled her processor of her own volition, which locked her personality development to that point. This has left her with a personality akin to a particularly young youngling, though her skills and reasoning abilities have developed as normal.
Gender: Femme
Appearance: A red condor frame-type. As a cassette, Fairwinds is quite small - even with mass shifting.
Faction: Decepticon
Occupation: Surveillance and information gathering. Megatron's cassette.
Likes: Megatron, information on almost any subject, Cybertronian history, Roulette, films, human comics and collecting interesting little trinkets (by stealing them) and getting her own way.
Dislikes: Autobots, traitors, cowards, Earth rodents, Shockwave.
Strengths: Fairwinds is as good a spy as she can be for her processor and frame type, and an excellent navigator. Her most valuable skill is as a postmortem mnemosurgeon. She is unquestioningly loyal, good for troop morale and can get excited about anything.
Weaknesses: Though a good mnemosurgeon, Fairwinds' methods are not so skilled as to leave a processor undamaged. She cannot perform memory and data extraction on living Cybertronians without the likelihood of causing irreparable harm. She considers this a valuable skill in the right situation. With her processor throttled, Fairwinds is immature, selfish, childishly cruel and easily excitable - essentially a child with in-built firearms. She views her Master Megatron as a Sire figure as well as her carrier, and her protectiveness of him is a vulnerability that can, and has, been exploited. This itself invoked her Master's wrath. She is not a particularly strong fighter and will evade conflict wherever possible, as she is not particularly difficult to bring down. Fairwinds has also been spoiled rotten by Megatron, and can be a brat to the other Decepticons.
Items/Special skills/functions: Spending countless centuries as a very small bot alone in a very big universe, Fairwinds has evolved into an expert scavenger. Following through earlier modifications made to her processor by Megatron himself, she has refined the ability to physically take data from another bot's processor by way of consuming the components. A particularly gruesome form of mneomosurgery. The data within the processor parts are preserved whilst she physically ingests them, absorbed into her processor to copy the information across. It is an effective means if hacking isn't working, and has kept her processor in excellent physical condition from all the material 'supplements'.
History/Other unique titbits of interest:
Before Megatron began to call himself 'Lord', when the skirmishes of war on Cybertron had not yet spread into full-fledged battlefields, he was not ruthless with life. Living sparks were potential allies more than they were potential enemies, and believed that their loyalty could be earned better than it could be intimidated.
When Switchback, an early senior follower in the Decepticon cause, was destroyed in battle, Megatron took the only surviving cassette from him and made something of a project out of repairing her. Fairwinds was of little tactical use as a young and traumatised cassette, making Megatron's attention to her recovery all the more significant and serving to earn her sparkdeep loyalty and devotion.
When Megatron's ambitions grew beyond overthrowing the ruling government into simply eradicating the opposing side and taking his 'rightful place as ruler of Cybertron', Fairwinds retreated from the heat of his side and kept watch from a distance. As her confidence in herself as a fully autonomous bot as opposed to a dependent cassette grew, she began undertaking missions for the warlord, using her small size, extraction skills and minimal significance in the war to supply vital information. On the Nemesis she has returned to her Master's shadow, keeping an eye on crew morale and conducting postmortem mnemosugery when required.
