Brilliant.
Possibility and renewed hope swirled before Jetfire, having auspiciously taken the form of a stable groundbridge. That there was a bridge here at all had meant the failsafe had engaged with no problems, thankfully. Furthermore, they had a comm signal. A more inelegant bridge failure would've been liable to scatter them across space, and certainly wouldn't have left them on their planet of origin. It was perfect. Perfect! Jetfire's relief was nearly palpable, evident as he stared into the welcoming vortex with a smile plastered to his face.
Of course, now was the time to put his hypothesis to the test. Also, there was the question of ordering themselves. Judging from how his modifications to the groundbridge had enabled Crescent, Luna, and himself to travel from the Lunar surface to the Sahara, their cumulative mass met the threshold for safe travel. The addition of a Prime had thrown the coefficient off by far too much. They could certainly do it again, but Jetfire wasn't ready to test the old condition against any strain the bridge had been put through as a result of the transversal failure. Now more than ever, their methods needed to be empirical. They'd need to go in one by one, this time.
He had the order all figured out, counting it off on his digits.
"Crescent, Luna," he began, holding those two particular digits together, as their combined mass was negligible. "...Optimus, then lastly, myself."
Jetfire was almost certain Optimus would've volunteered himself to go last to ensure the rest got through first, though he wanted to make it known he wouldn't countenance such a noble gesture.
"Crescent, as you've the least mass among us, you'll take Luna and proceed through first." The scientist turned, directing his gaze toward the group. "I think it's fair to say you've spent enough time being shipwrecked, as is."
Then, Jetfire turned toward the big man.
"If the math agrees with us, I feel it best that you should proceed after Crescent, sir." He was quick to raise his justification, naturally. "The bridge supported both Crescent and I the first time, so I've no doubt it will hold. But, in the event that it destabilizes again... well, I can always fly back."
